Chamber and sacred music at the Sala Rottonara in Corvara, the heart of the Dolomites
Badiamusica is the summer festival of chamber and sacred music in Alta Badia, which for nearly twenty years has enlivened the villages of Val Badia, in the province of Bolzano (Trentino-Alto Adige). The festival deliberately favors an intense musical experience over flashy spectacle: intimate concerts, carefully curated programs, and quality performers from various European countries. In Corvara, events are held in the Sala F.A. Rottonara, the town's event hall at the foot of the Sassongher mountain.
For the 2026 edition, the Sala F.A. Rottonara in Corvara hosts three evenings dedicated to chamber music:
The Corvara concerts are part of the festival's overall program, which between July and August also reaches Badia, La Villa, La Valle, San Martino in Badia, and San Vigilio, featuring organ concerts in churches and string and wind ensembles in the valley's event halls.
The Badiamusica repertoire ranges from sacred music to baroque, from Viennese classics like Schubert to rediscoveries of forgotten female composers, and contemporary brass and wind formations. It is a true journey through the history of European music, presented in a natural setting that amplifies the listening experience. The performers—duos, trios, quartets, and ensembles—arrive from all over Europe, bringing programs to Corvara designed to enhance the intimate acoustics of the Sala Rottonara.
One of the festival's hallmarks is free admission to all concerts, making classical music accessible to both residents and tourists. Included in the Alta Badia summer calendar, Badiamusica is also an opportunity to discover the Municipality of Corvara in Badia and the valley's Ladin culture, amidst traditions, Dolomite landscapes, and the heritage of local communities.
