The chamber and sacred music festival in the heart of the Dolomites
Badiamusica is the classical music festival of Alta Badia, located in the municipality of Badia (province of Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige). For nearly two decades, it has brought a rich calendar of chamber and sacred music to the heart of the Dolomites, featuring organ concerts, wind ensembles, string quartets, duos, and trios from Italy and various European countries. The founders' philosophy is rooted in a simple idea: nature as a source of inspiration for music, in a continuous dialogue between the alpine landscape and the notes.
The unique feature of Badiamusica is its itinerant nature: concerts are not held in a single venue but are spread across the various villages of Val Badia, occupying churches, castles, event halls, and music schools. In Badia, the festival is centered in the parish church of San Leonardo, where the organ resonates; other events animate La Villa (the "Ciasa dla cultura" hall), Corvara, La Valle, San Martino in Badia (with the Museum Ladin), and San Vigilio.
The repertoire ranges from Baroque to sacred music, from great classics like Mozart and Salieri to the Viennese tradition of Schubert, as well as the rediscovery of forgotten female composers and contemporary brass and wind ensembles. Listeners can embark on a true journey through the history of European music, set within a natural context that amplifies the listening experience.
One of the festival's hallmarks is free admission to all concerts, making classical music accessible to both residents and tourists. As part of the Alta Badia summer calendar, Badiamusica is also an opportunity to discover the valley's Ladin culture, amidst traditions, Dolomite landscapes, and the heritage of local communities.
The 2026 edition of Badiamusica brings Alta Badia to life from July 16 to August 30 with a program spread across churches, event halls, castles, and music schools in the Val Badia villages. The program ranges from the Baroque repertoire (flute, harpsichord, organ) to sacred music, from the Viennese tradition of Schubert and Mozart to brass ensembles and the rediscovery of forgotten female composers.
In Badia, at the parish church of San Leonardo, an organ concert with Franz Comploi ("A European Organ Tour with Bach") is scheduled for August 2, 2026, at 9:00 PM. Other events will be held in La Villa ("Ciasa dla cultura"), Corvara, La Valle, San Martino in Badia (Museum Ladin), and San Vigilio, featuring performers from Italy and various European countries.
Admission to all concerts is free.
