About Badia Music Days

Nestled in the heart of the Dolomites in Badia, Alta Badia, the Badia Music Days is a free open-air music festival dedicated to rock, pop, and blues. Hosted at the San Linert Pavilion, it brings together tribute bands and local groups for two nights of live concerts amidst the South Tyrolean mountains. Born in 2009 from the legacy of Ötzi Rock and Badia Rocks, it is a summer staple fueled by a passionate community of music lovers.

Badia Music Days: Live music in the heart of the Dolomites

The Badia Music Days is a free open-air music festival held in Badia (Abtei), a Ladin municipality in Val Badia, located in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Trentino-South Tyrol. Set against the backdrop of the Dolomite peaks, the event features two days of concerts dedicated to rock, pop, and blues, showcasing both tribute bands and local musical groups. The festival typically takes place in July at the San Linert Pavilion, the village's event hall.

A history rooted in the South Tyrolean rock scene

The festival's origins date back to 2001 with the Ötzi Rock event, which later continued as Badia Rocks. In 2009, the organizers decided to refresh the format, launching the Badia Music Days: a more intimate, free event open to a wider range of musical genres. Since its inception, nearly a hundred different bands have graced the stage, driven by the passion of a group of young music enthusiasts who continue to curate the lineup.

The atmosphere

The festival thrives on a simple, convivial atmosphere, typical of mountain village celebrations. The San Linert Pavilion provides an outdoor space with a focus on sound quality, ensuring every band can perform at their best for the audience. In case of bad weather, the concerts move to the J.B. Runcher event hall, ensuring the event proceeds regardless of the weather conditions.

What to expect

  • Live rock, pop, and blues concerts
  • Free admission to all evenings
  • Tribute bands and local acts from Val Badia
  • A friendly, convivial environment in the alpine setting of the Dolomites

Surrounded by the peaks of the Sella Group and the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, the village is a renowned tourist destination in both winter and summer.
