The Avigliana Carnival

The Avigliana Carnival is one of the most anticipated winter events in Avigliana: a popular costume festival that involves the entire community of this charming medieval village overlooking its lakes, located in the province of Turin in the heart of the Susa Valley, Piedmont. The event is promoted by the Avigliana Pro Loco in collaboration with the Merchants and Artisans Union and the C'era una volta association, under the patronage of the Municipality.

The Costume Parade

The heart of the event is the Carnival parade, which winds through the streets of the center, starting from Piazzetta De André and arriving at the Parco Alveare Verde, a large green space along Corso Laghi. The parade is open to costumed groups of at least four people, who are invited to choose a common theme and let their imagination run wild. Along the route and at the finish line, colors, joy, and the carefree atmosphere typical of the Piedmontese Carnival reign supreme.

Games, Prizes, and Fun

At Parco Alveare Verde, the party continues with music, food for every taste, and activities designed especially for the little ones, such as the famous life-sized board game. There is no shortage of awards, which every year celebrate the largest group, the most creative one, and the most beautiful costumes, as well as the most original and funniest masks.

The Avigliana Carnival is aimed particularly at families and children: free admission, a welcoming atmosphere, and plenty of opportunities to spend time together. It is the ideal occasion to discover Avigliana, with its historic center, castle, and the Natural Park of the Lakes, while experiencing a simple and genuine carnival tradition in the heart of the province of Turin.
