An immersive art experience with phones switched off in the heart of Salento

Audaus OffLine flips the implicit rule of every contemporary event: here, you don't take stories, you don't share anything in real-time, and you don't check notifications. At the entrance, every participant leaves their smartphone and any device that allows access to the virtual world. It is the founding gesture of this immersive and participatory art experience, conceived by Salento-based artist and designer Silvio Ippati and curated by Audaus Design & Hospitality, with coordination by Elena Emi Gilardi and Fabiola Zielli.
The goal is clear: to create a space "free from digital distractions," designed to foster direct contact with art, oneself, and others. In an era of screen overexposure, Audaus OffLine proposes a sensitive approach to art and slow time, where what matters is feeling, being perceived, and truly sharing the experience.
The Salento leg takes place in the evocative Scuderie di Palazzo Gallone, overlooking Piazza Pisanelli in the historic center of Tricase, one of the most beautiful villages in the Capo di Leuca area, in the province of Lecce. The monumental setting of the palace, with its courtyard and historic rooms, becomes an integral part of the journey: art dialogues with the local Lecce stone and the intimate atmosphere of Puglian summer evenings.
The experience alternates between exhibition and participation. The public walks through Ippati's works — from pen-on-wood pieces to well-known works such as L'uomo e la biosfera (Man and the Biosphere), created for the Torre Guaceto nature reserve, and the portrait of Helen Mirren as Elizabeth I — and attends live drawing sessions where the artist draws while conversing with attendees. It is not just about watching: you can draw, leave an emotion on wood, or take home a Polaroid as a tangible memory of the evening.
Born in Rome in the spring of 2025, Audaus OffLine is a traveling format that has brought its concept of disconnection to various Italian cities. The Tricase stop marked its arrival in Salento, under the patronage of the Municipality of Tricase, confirming how the "phones off" formula resonates just as well in small Puglian villages as it does in large cities.
At the moment, no official dates have been published for a 2026 edition of Audaus OffLine in Tricase. The festival, born in Rome and arriving in Salento in August 2025, maintains a traveling nature that makes it difficult to predict the location of the next stop in advance. As soon as official information regarding dates, location, and program is released, this page will be updated with all useful details.
