An evening of music, street food, and charity in the historic village of Gavedo, in the shadow of Villa Brignole Sale.
In Gavedo, a hamlet of the Municipality of Mulazzo in the province of Massa-Carrara, in the heart of the Tuscan Lunigiana, At the Court of the Brignole Sale returns: an evening of live music, good food, and entertainment organized by the Amici di Gavedo association. The event takes place in the charming village, dominated by the imposing fortified villa that bears the name of the famous Genoese dynasty, and is one of those summer events that bring the small towns of the Magra valley to life during the month of August.
The theme of the evening is simple and genuine: a concert under the stars accompanied by local street food, prepared by the organizers and volunteers of the village. Guests can enjoy drinks, food, and great music in a social atmosphere, with a charitable purpose that makes the event even more dear to the Gavedo community. It follows the classic formula of Lunigiana village festivals, capable of attracting both residents and visitors from neighboring towns.
The setting is truly worth the trip. The village of Gavedo, together with the nearby Groppoli, is home to Villa Brignole Sale, built in 1642 based on a design by architect Giambattista Bianchi at the behest of Marquis Antonio Giulio Brignole Sale. The fiefdom of Groppoli had passed in 1606 from the Sale family to the Brignole, giving rise to the powerful Genoese dynasty of the Brignole Sale. The villa, protected by an imposing wall with four corner towers, is one of the most fascinating testaments to the Ligurian presence in the Tuscan Lunigiana and provides an ideal backdrop for an event that explicitly evokes its historical memory.
An event that tells, in just a few hours of celebration, much about the 'lesser' Tuscany: that of the small villages in the province of Massa-Carrara where traditions, good food, and history continue to live together.
The 2026 edition of At the Court of the Brignole Sale takes place on August 10th, starting at 7:00 PM, in the village of Gavedo in Mulazzo (MS). The highlight of the evening is the concert by Melissa Jacquez, who brings her Electric Soul by Insolito Stage project to the stage, featuring soul, funk, and engaging rhythms. Accompanying the music is local street food, prepared by the organizers themselves, in a formula that combines good food, entertainment, and a charitable cause.
The evening is convivial and charitable, with music and local street food throughout the event.
