A new illustration and comics festival in Pulsano

Art Expo – Inchiostro nel Chiostro is the event bringing an entire weekend dedicated to the world of illustration and comics to Pulsano, in the heart of the Taranto province, in June 2026. In its first edition, the event was born with the ambition of giving space to the art of line, drawing, and visual storytelling, bringing together lovers of pencils, ink, and illustrated plates for two days in one of the most fascinating places in the town.

The Convento dei Padri Riformati as an open-air gallery

The heart of the event is the historic Convento dei Padri Riformati, the ancient Franciscan complex linked to the church of Santa Maria dei Martiri. For the occasion, the cloister and convent spaces transform into a true open-air artistic laboratory, where the arches and courtyards frame exhibitions, live demonstrations, and moments of discussion. The choice of the cloister is no coincidence: the play on words between "inchiostro" (ink) and "chiostro" (cloister) gives the festival its name and encapsulates its spirit—that of creating a dialogue between contemporary drawing art and the local historical and spiritual heritage.

Two days of pencils, ink, and color

The event program spans the entire weekend of June 13th and 14th, 2026, with days marked by creativity, meetings, and color. Illustration and comics are the absolute protagonists: original plates, exhibited works, and moments of exchange between authors and the public animate the convent, offering visitors the chance to get closer to the work of those who tell stories through drawing. An appointment designed as much for enthusiasts as for families and young people, who can discover up close the secrets of a craft made of patience, imagination, and technique.
