Aperitif and barbecue in the vineyards at sunset on the Novara Hills
As the days grow longer and the May evenings turn mild, the hills of Fara Novarese become the perfect stage for AperiGrill, the food and wine event created by the FaraDoc cultural association. The formula is simple and irresistible: an aperitif accompanied by an open-air barbecue, right among the vines, as the sun slowly dips below the horizon of the Novara Hills.
We are in the heart of Upper Piedmont, a land of elegant Nebbiolo wines where viticulture has always been part of the community's identity. This is the home of Fara DOC, a red wine made primarily from Nebbiolo (locally known as Spanna), Vespolina, and Uva Rara grapes, which, along with other reds from the Novara Hills, accompanies the AperiGrill evenings. The event is specifically designed to showcase these local products and the agricultural landscape that surrounds them.
AperiGrill is not just an opportunity to eat and drink well: it is a way to experience the Municipality of Fara Novarese from a privileged perspective, immersed in nature and good company. The evenings, which kick off at dusk, combine the pleasures of the table with the beauty of the landscape, with steaming grills and glasses of red wine taking center stage.
The initiative is part of the numerous activities through which FaraDoc enlivens this village in the Province of Novara, ranging from food and wine walks like "Camminar mangiando" (Walking and Eating) to picnics among the vineyards. These are all proposals that tell the story of an authentic Piedmont, far from mass tourism circuits and close to farming traditions.
Spaces for each evening are limited and booking is mandatory: it is the best way to ensure every participant enjoys a well-curated and convivial experience. Those wishing to take part in AperiGrill can contact the FaraDoc association to reserve their spot and receive all the details regarding the exact meeting point among the vineyards.
