The antique and vintage market in the historic center of Carovigno
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Once a month, the elegant living room of Carovigno, a charming village in the province of Brindisi, Puglia, dresses up in antique style. Antigua is the antique, vintage, and flea market that brings the historic center to life every fourth Sunday of the month (excluding August), between Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Piazza 'Nzegna. From the early morning hours until the early afternoon, the cobblestone streets fill with stalls that tell stories of a fascinating past.
Enthusiasts and collectors from all over Puglia display a rich assortment of items that invite you to browse at your leisure:
It is the perfect opportunity to hunt for a bargain or a unique piece, or simply to stroll among the stalls and let yourself be captivated by the charm of objects that have a story to tell.
Enriching the experience is the musical accompaniment of the Orchestrina Popolare, which fills the village streets with traditional Mediterranean melodies played on mandolin, guitar, and tambourine. This background creates an authentic, nostalgic atmosphere, turning your visit into a delightful open-air neighborhood festival.
Born as an initiative to revitalize the historic center, Antigua has become a highly anticipated event that attracts curious visitors, families, and collectors alike. The event, held in the Municipality of Carovigno with the support of the local administration, helps keep the heart of the village alive while promoting small businesses and local craftsmanship. The historic center of Carovigno, dominated by the Castello Dentice di Frasso and just a few kilometers from the famous Torre Guaceto nature reserve, offers a picturesque setting to combine vintage shopping with a trip into the Brindisi hinterland.
The market offers free entry and is open from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. We recommend arriving in the morning to get the best pick of the stalls and experience the most vibrant atmosphere of the day.
In 2026, Antigua is expected to renew its usual monthly appointment in the historic center of Carovigno (Brindisi), with stalls of antiques, vintage items, collectibles, and handicrafts set up on the fourth Sunday of every month, excluding the August summer break. The exact dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been published: we recommend checking the organization's social media channels to confirm the updated calendar before planning your visit.
Carovigno is located along the SS16 road between Brindisi and Ostuni. By car, take the Carovigno exit from the SS379 (Bari-Brindisi). By train, the Carovigno station is on the Adriatic line; the historic center is reachable on foot or via a short transfer. Nearest airports: Brindisi-Casale (approx. 30 km) and Bari-Palese (approx. 90 km).
Every fourth Sunday of the month (excluding August), from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Free entry.
The market takes place in the historic center: we recommend parking in the surrounding areas and walking to Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Piazza 'Nzegna.
