About Antigua Carovigno

Every fourth Sunday of the month (excluding August), the historic center of Carovigno, in the province of Brindisi, transforms into a fascinating journey through time with Antigua, the antique, vintage, and flea market. Between Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Piazza 'Nzegna, exhibitors and enthusiasts from across Puglia set up stalls featuring period furniture, porcelain, collectibles, retro clothing, and local handicrafts. The stroll is accompanied by the Mediterranean melodies of the Orchestrina Popolare. Free entry, from 7 am to 3 pm.

A journey through time in the heart of Carovigno

Once a month, the elegant living room of Carovigno, a charming village in the province of Brindisi, Puglia, dresses up in antique style. Antigua is the antique, vintage, and flea market that brings the historic center to life every fourth Sunday of the month (excluding August), between Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Piazza 'Nzegna. From the early morning hours until the early afternoon, the cobblestone streets fill with stalls that tell stories of a fascinating past.

What you will find at the stalls

Enthusiasts and collectors from all over Puglia display a rich assortment of items that invite you to browse at your leisure:

  • Period furniture and vintage home decor;
  • Fine porcelain, ceramics, and designer objects;
  • Vintage and retro clothing and accessories;
  • Vinyl records, books, postcards, and small collectibles;
  • Local handcrafted creations and handmade pieces.

It is the perfect opportunity to hunt for a bargain or a unique piece, or simply to stroll among the stalls and let yourself be captivated by the charm of objects that have a story to tell.

Music and atmosphere

Enriching the experience is the musical accompaniment of the Orchestrina Popolare, which fills the village streets with traditional Mediterranean melodies played on mandolin, guitar, and tambourine. This background creates an authentic, nostalgic atmosphere, turning your visit into a delightful open-air neighborhood festival.

A staple for the local area

Born as an initiative to revitalize the historic center, Antigua has become a highly anticipated event that attracts curious visitors, families, and collectors alike. The event, held in the Municipality of Carovigno with the support of the local administration, helps keep the heart of the village alive while promoting small businesses and local craftsmanship. The historic center of Carovigno, dominated by the Castello Dentice di Frasso and just a few kilometers from the famous Torre Guaceto nature reserve, offers a picturesque setting to combine vintage shopping with a trip into the Brindisi hinterland.

Useful information

The market offers free entry and is open from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. We recommend arriving in the morning to get the best pick of the stalls and experience the most vibrant atmosphere of the day.
