Andar per Langa is the non-competitive running event that brings Gottasecca, a tiny village in the Alta Langa area of the Province of Cuneo, Piedmont, to life every late August. Organized by the Polisportiva Gottasecca, the event attracts hundreds of runners and walkers each year, drawn by both the sporting spirit and the stunning landscapes of these hills, now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Two routes for everyone
The heart of the day lies in the two loop trails designed to suit every type of participant:
- Long Route — 9.5 km: the most challenging, hilly course, alternating between asphalt and dirt paths through the woods and trails of the Alta Langa.
- Short Route — 3.5 km: more accessible and suitable for families, children, and walkers who want to enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace.
Both trails wind through the lush green of the Langhe, offering panoramic views of the hills that have made this corner of Piedmont famous worldwide.
Sport and solidarity
Andar per Langa is more than just a race: it is, above all, an act of solidarity. The proceeds from the event are donated to the Italian Parents' Union against childhood cancer, an organization that has supported the families of young oncology patients for decades. Participating means making a concrete contribution to a worthy cause while running or walking through the Langa trails.
Prizes and local atmosphere
True to local tradition, the event rewards the top finishers in each category with typical Langhe products, such as bottles of wine and prized truffles. Beyond the competition, however, Andar per Langa remains a village festival: a meeting point for the Gottasecca community and the many visitors who choose to spend a day dedicated to sport, nature, and conviviality in the Cuneo Alta Langa.

La formula resta quella collaudata: una manifestazione podistica non competitiva con i due percorsi ad anello — uno lungo di 9,5 km e uno breve di 3,5 km — che attraversano i sentieri e i boschi dell'Alta Langa cuneese.
Il programma dettagliato dell'edizione 2026, con orari di ritrovo e partenza, quote di iscrizione e ristori, sarà annunciato dagli organizzatori nelle settimane precedenti l'evento sui canali ufficiali della Polisportiva. How to get there
Gottasecca is located in the Alta Langa, in the Province of Cuneo. By car, it can be reached via the provincial road (SP) towards Saliceto and Monesiglio; the nearest train stations are on the Valle Bormida line.
Routes
Two loop trails are available: a 9.5 km long route (hilly, mixed asphalt and dirt) and a 3.5 km short route suitable for families and walkers.
