Two days of cherries, craftsmanship, and flavors in the Langhe of Dogliani
The Ancient Cherry Fair is one of the most beloved events on the spring calendar in Dogliani, a charming village in the Province of Cuneo nestled in the hills of the Langhe, in Piedmont. For an entire weekend in June, the whole town transforms into a large, widespread celebration that unites the two hearts of the village: Dogliani Borgo in the lower part and Dogliani Castello in the upper part, connected by a convenient free shuttle service.
The fair has deep roots in local history: the first documented evidence dates back to 1897, when the City Council discussed relocating some town fairs, including the one dedicated to the cherry. Today, the event, organized by the Municipality of Dogliani in collaboration with Confartigianato Cuneo, tells the story of the deep bond between the town and its productive traditions every year, promoting food and wine excellence, artistic craftsmanship, and experiential tourism.
The streets of the historic center come alive with about two hundred stalls featuring street vendors, agricultural producers, and hobbyists, while the medieval alleys of Dogliani Castello host exhibitions of local gastronomic and artistic crafts.
Dogliani is famous for its Dolcetto wine, which here takes the name of Dogliani DOCG, and is part of the Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visiting the Cherry Fair also means immersing yourself in one of the most fascinating territories in Piedmont, among wineries, hilly panoramas, and top-level gastronomy.
The 13th Ancient Cherry Fair of Dogliani takes place on Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14, 2026, between Dogliani Castello and Dogliani Borgo.
On Sunday, a free shuttle service is active between the two villages.
From 5:00 PM at Dogliani Castello: Artisans of taste in Piazza Belvedere with street food, Dogliani DOCG, and craft beers, musical entertainment. Cherry Tour (gourmet walk and bike ride).
All day: about 200 stalls in Dogliani Borgo; Little Firefighters in the Langa in Piazza San Paolo; "The sound of snow" exhibition at the Gabetti Museum; guided tours of the medieval village; in Dogliani Castello: craft exhibitions, falconry, ancient crafts, photography exhibitions, and vintage tractors. Free shuttle service between the two villages.
Dogliani can be reached by car from the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Carrù or Mondovì exit) and then via provincial roads towards the Langa. The nearest train station is in Dogliani on the Bra-Ceva line. During the fair, a free shuttle service operates between Dogliani Borgo and Dogliani Castello.
Admission to the event is free. Some activities (such as the Cherry Tour) require a fee and booking.
