A few kilometers from Turin, in the agricultural triangle connecting Carmagnola, Poirino, and Villastellone, lies the Pianalto, a plateau with sandy soils particularly well-suited for potato cultivation. It is here, in the town of Villastellone (Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont), that the Potato Festival — Gustiamoci il Pianalto takes place every September, an event that highlights the territory's signature product and the entire local agricultural supply chain.

The festival serves as a meeting point between a traditional village fair and an event for regional promotion: the protagonist is the potato grown on the Pianalto, known by locals as the "Patate d'la Vila", featured in traditional dishes at the gastronomic village and celebrated through the hard work of local farmers.

What makes Gustiamoci il Pianalto special

The heart of the event is the Pro Loco Village set up at the Palarane, where you can dine on local specialties while the town comes alive with live music, DJ sets, and themed evenings. But the festival is much more than just a food and wine event:

• Agricultural market in Piazza Libertà, featuring local producers and typical products of the Pianalto;
• Exhibition fair of agricultural machinery and vintage tractors, a tribute to the area's rural history;

The strength of the event lies in the collaboration between various local entities: the festival is organized by the Villastellone Pro Loco together with the Pro Loco of neighboring towns and the Villastellone Farmers and Breeders Association, under the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Turin. A collective project that makes the festival an opportunity to rediscover the rural identity of the Pianalto and the Piedmontese autumn.
