In the heart of Valdambra, in Ambra—a village within the municipality of Bucine in the province of Arezzo—the Carnival is one of the most cherished local traditions. The Pro Loco Ambra transforms Piazza del Teatro into an open-air stage filled with costumes, confetti, illuminated floats, and music, treating the village and the entire valley to weeks of festivities throughout February.

Two souls: children and the night

The Ambra Carnival has a well-established structure divided into two complementary parts. On one hand, the Children's Carnival, which brings little ones to the square on Sundays in February with costumes, entertainment, and shows designed for families. On the other, the Carnival Party, the grand nighttime finale: a night of celebration featuring a themed dinner, sandwiches, performances, DJ sets, and the signature illuminated floats that parade through the darkness, creating a unique atmosphere.

Brazilian vibes and fun for everyone

The most recent edition was themed around the colors and Brazilian music, with an overwhelming energy that captivated both adults and children. The evening alternates between children's shows with the artists from Circotà, indoor heated dinner seatings, and a long dance party with DJ sets continuing late into the night. There is also a prize for the best-costumed group, rewarding the creativity and effort of the participants.

A community gathering

More than just an event, the Ambra Carnival is a moment of connection for the entire Valdambra community. The Pro Loco Ambra, which also organizes the Battitura, Notti d'Ambra, Castello di Vino, and the Snail Festival throughout the year, invests volunteers and passion into offering an accessible, family-friendly celebration that attracts visitors from neighboring towns and highlights this corner of the Aretine Tuscany.
