The summer festival of taste and tradition in Lido dei Pini, Ardea
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the heart of summer, the seaside district of Lido dei Pini, in the municipality of Ardea (Metropolitan City of Rome, Lazio), hosts the Amatriciana Festival, one of the most anticipated events in the vibrant Lido dei Pini in Festa summer calendar. The event brings one of the iconic dishes of Lazio cuisine to the table, transforming the open-air spaces of Via delle Palme, near the sports field, into a bustling village festival for several evenings.
The absolute star is the Amatriciana, with its crispy guanciale, pecorino cheese, tomato, and the bold kick of chili pepper. Every evening, food stalls offer tastings of this famous dish alongside other local specialties. The festival is part of a long season of celebrations that, in past editions, has also featured the Mutton Festival and the Fish Festival, showcasing the convivial and gastronomic spirit of this stretch of the Roman coastline.
Each evening follows a well-established rhythm: the playground opens in the late afternoon, followed by food tastings, and in the early evening, musical entertainment with ballroom orchestras, cover bands, and dance groups that keep the dance floor lively until late. Past editions have featured groups such as I Figli delle Stelle, I Charleston, and numerous orchestras from the Roman and Lazio folk tradition, catering to audiences of all ages.
The Amatriciana Festival is designed as an accessible and convivial event: admission is free, and there is ample parking and a baby park for children, in addition to refreshment points and stalls. It is a perfect opportunity for residents, tourists, and vacationers on the coast between Ardea and Anzio to gather in the evening, after a day at the beach, for dinner in good company and an evening of music.
Lido dei Pini is one of the coastal districts of Ardea, a town on the coast south of Rome overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, nestled between pine forests and the beaches of the so-called Riviera di Enea. The Amatriciana Festival captures its summer and community spirit, in a territory that blends the farming and pastoral traditions of the Lazio hinterland with the seaside life of the Roman coast.
The Amatriciana Festival in Lido dei Pini, Ardea (RM), is preparing to return in the summer of 2026 as part of the Lido dei Pini in Festa calendar. As every year, in the open-air spaces of Via delle Palme, the event will offer tastings of the famous Lazio dish, food stalls, orchestras, and free-entry dance evenings. The detailed calendar and musical program will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
The Amatriciana Festival takes place on Via delle Palme, at the corner of Via delle Pinete, in the Lido dei Pini district of Ardea (RM), near the sports field. By car, it can be reached from the Via Pontina (SS148) or the Via Ardeatina, taking the exit toward the coast; ample parking is available. The nearest train stations are on the Rome-Nettuno line, with connections via car or local buses.
Admission is free. There are food stalls with tastings, refreshment points, a baby park for children, and a dance floor with live music. The evenings take place mainly in August, during the evening hours.
