The agricultural fair showcasing the excellence of the Caserta valley
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Agrincontri a Valle is a fair dedicated to high-quality agriculture held in Valle di Maddaloni, a small town in the province of Caserta, Campania. Established to promote and enhance the agricultural excellence of the town and the entire Caserta hilly area, the event reached its tenth edition in 2025, spanning two weekends in October.
It is more than just a product showcase: the organizers designed Agrincontri as a true meeting and discussion hub for producers, consumers, technicians, students, and professionals in the agri-food sector. The stated goal is to revitalize the agricultural and rural sector through promotion, tastings, training, and educational activities.
The event is built around three pillars that define the agricultural identity of this corner of Campania:
Alongside these three flagship products, there is space for other local produce, agritourism farms, and local artisans, with stalls remaining open throughout the event.
The program of Agrincontri a Valle complements the exhibition with a series of in-depth sessions designed for diverse audiences. Guided tastings are combined with initiatives aimed at schools and cultural associations, as well as opportunities for dialogue involving public bodies, cooperatives, and farms. The structure is designed to foster a dialogue between producers and consumers, restoring value to the work of the land.
Agrincontri a Valle takes place in conjunction with the Apple Festival (Festa della Mela), the historic fair that has celebrated the Annurca apple in Valle di Maddaloni for over thirty years, reaching its thirty-first edition in 2025. The overlap of the two events transforms the town's historic center into a continuous path of food stalls, musical performances, folk songs and dances, street artists, and activities for children.
In the kitchens set up by local housewives, the Annurca apple is transformed into jams, cakes, preserves, fresh juice, and ingredients for traditional dishes: a heritage of home recipes that is an integral part of the town's identity. In March 2024, at the Senate of the Republic, the Pro Loco «Valle» received the «Sagra di Eccellenza» (Festival of Excellence) quality mark for this commitment.
Valle di Maddaloni is a town of a few thousand inhabitants nestled among the hills that enclose the Caserta plain. Its most famous monument is the Carolino Aqueduct, the so-called Ponti della Valle (Valley Bridges) designed by Luigi Vanvitelli to feed the fountains of the Royal Palace of Caserta and included, along with the Palace, in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Visitors arriving for the fair will find one of the most recognizable monumental landscapes in Campania just a few steps from the stands.
During the event, the Pro Loco also offers guided tours of the town's churches and walks along the nature trails that climb the surrounding hills: a way to link agricultural promotion to the discovery of local heritage.
The event is traditionally held in October, during the Annurca apple harvest season, spread over two consecutive weekends. The dates for the next edition are announced by the Pro Loco «Valle» through its website and social media channels: it is advisable to check them before planning your trip.
At the moment, no official dates have been published for the 2026 edition of Agrincontri a Valle. The event, which reached its tenth edition in 2025, usually takes place in October in Valle di Maddaloni, in the province of Caserta, spread over two weekends and accompanied by the Apple Festival.
The structure of the event is well-established: exhibitions by local farms and artisans, tastings of extra virgin olive oil, wine, and Melannurca Campana PGI, as well as training sessions and educational activities also aimed at schools. To find out the dates and program for the 2026 edition, please wait for the official announcement from the Pro Loco «Valle».
The stands and shows occupy the historic center of Valle di Maddaloni (ZIP code 81020), in the province of Caserta. Some events are held in Piazza Annunziata.
By car: the town is easily reached from Caserta and Maddaloni; during the event days, the organization sets up parking areas, which can be booked online in some editions. From Naples and the Caserta area, the reference point is the nearest motorway exit towards Caserta/Maddaloni, then following the signs for Valle di Maddaloni.
Admission to the event is traditionally free; you only pay for what you taste or purchase at the producers' stands.
Autumn evenings in the hills can be chilly: a jacket is recommended. To combine with your visit: the Ponti della Valle of the Carolino Aqueduct, a UNESCO heritage site along with the Royal Palace of Caserta.
