Courmayeur's Mountains Accessible to Everyone
Adventure at Altitude is the summer outdoor offering from Courmayeur, in the province of Aosta, at the foot of Mont Blanc. Organized by Courmayeur Mont Blanc Funivie, it guides adults and families with children aged 10 and up on a trekking and via ferrata experience on Mont Chétif, in small groups and with provided equipment.
A Route Between Cables and Views
The adventure begins with a cable car ride up the Val Veny cable car to Pré de Pascal. From there, an accessible path leads to sections equipped with steel rungs and cables: two via ferrata segments alternate with the classic trail to the summit, from which the view encompasses the entire Mont Blanc massif. It's a route suitable for experienced hikers (EE level), requiring good physical condition.
A Guided and Safe Experience
The activity takes place in limited-size groups, with helmets and harnesses provided by the organization. It's an accessible and safe way to experience the thrill of via ferrata in one of the most spectacular alpine settings in the Aosta Valley, accompanied by Courmayeur's mountain professionals.
Adventure at Altitude — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Adventure at Altitude offers three summer dates: July 31, August 7, and August 14. Each event is a trekking and via ferrata experience on Mont Chétif, facing Mont Blanc, in small groups.
Programme Adventure at Altitude 2026
The Three Dates: July 31, August 7, and 14, 2026
- 9:30 AM — Meet at the Val Veny cable car station;
- Ascent via cable car to Pré de Pascal;
- Accessible path to sections equipped with steel rungs and cables;
- Two via ferrata segments alternating with the classic trail, to the panoramic summit overlooking the Mont Blanc massif;
- 4:00 PM — Estimated return.
Difficulty: Experienced hikers (EE). For adults and children aged 10 and up accompanied by an adult. Helmet and harness provided. In case of bad weather, the activity is refunded or postponed to Sunday.

How to Get There
Courmayeur is reachable by car from the A5 motorway (Courmayeur exit) or by bus from Aosta. Meet at the Val Veny cable car station.
What to Bring
Hiking boots, windproof jacket, hat, and sunglasses; trekking poles recommended. Helmet and harness are provided. Activity reserved for experienced hikers, adults, and children aged 10 and up accompanied by an adult.
