AcroPesaro 2026 – FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships

A World Event in the Heart of the Marche Region

From September 17 to 27, 2026, the Vitrifrigo Arena in Pesaro, in the Marche region, becomes the world capital of acrobatic gymnastics with AcroPesaro 2026, the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships organized under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). This is a historic event: for the first time, Italy is hosting the world championship for this discipline, under the Federation's new World Gymnastics brand.

The city of Pesaro is no stranger to major gymnastics events, having previously hosted the European Championships for Acrobatics and Aerobics in 2021 and the Aerobics World Championships in 2024. With AcroPesaro 2026, the capital of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino solidifies its role as a city of sport, capable of attracting a top-level international movement to the Marche region.

Disciplines of Acrobatic Gymnastics

Acrobatic gymnastics is a spectacular discipline where athletes compete in pairs and groups, creating figures, holds, and tumbling elements, accompanied by music. The competitions are divided into three types of exercise:

• Static (balance) — figures of balance, holds, and human pyramids;
• Dynamic — throws, catches, and dynamic movements;
• Combined (all-around) — the sum of the two exercises.

Competitions are held in pairs (mixed, women's, men's), women's trios, and men's quartets, in youth, junior, and senior categories.

Over 800 Athletes from 45 Countries

The 2026 edition brings together over 800 athletes from 45 countries from five continents in Pesaro, confirming the event's global reach. The event is organized by the sports club SSD PesaroGym 2019 along with Esatour Group, in collaboration with the Italian Gymnastics Federation (FGI) and the FIG, with the support of the Municipality of Pesaro and the Marche region. The official event theme, "AcroDream", was conceived in collaboration with the Liceo Artistico Mengaroni of Pesaro, highlighting the link between the world championship sport and the local community.

Two Weeks of Competition

The program unfolds over two distinct blocks within the Vitrifrigo Arena: the first part, from September 17 to 20, is dedicated to youth competitions and the Junior World Championships; the second, from September 24 to 27, hosts the Senior World Championship, now in its 30th edition. For sports enthusiasts and families, it's an opportunity to witness an elegant and adrenaline-fueled discipline live in one of the largest arenas in the Marche region.
