Accademie in Valle: music arrives in Demonte

Every summer, the town of Demonte, in the Province of Cuneo, joins the extensive program of Accademie in Valle, the traveling music festival that has been enlivening the villages and valleys of southwestern Piedmont since 2008. Under the artistic direction of Angelo Vinai and organized by the Musicante Association in collaboration with local municipalities, the festival offers a program ranging from jazz and classical music to singer-songwriter performances, musical comedy, and great tributes to Italian traditions.

The Piazza Nuto Revelli Amphitheatre: a stage among the mountains

In Demonte, the gateway to the Stura Valley, concerts find their home in the Piazza Nuto Revelli Amphitheatre, an open-air space in the heart of the town named after the local writer and partisan. Here, live music engages with the evening atmosphere of an alpine village, creating an experience designed for a curious and passionate audience. Demonte is one of the stops on a tour that visits other municipalities in the Cuneo valleys throughout the summer, including Chiusa di Pesio, Limone Piemonte, Entracque, and Vernante, turning the mountains into a vast, natural stage.

From jazz and musical comedy to tributes to Italian song

Over the years, the festival has brought some of the most beloved names in the Italian music scene to Demonte and other villages, with a special focus on jazz and projects that reinterpret classic repertoires. Alongside concerts by major soloists, the program includes ensembles, brass bands, tribute shows, and musical theater performances. The 2025 edition opened right here in Demonte with the irreverent irony of the Banda Osiris, confirming the strong bond between the town and the festival.

An event for the Stura Valley region

Accademie in Valle is supported by local entities such as the Fondazione CRC, Fondazione CRT, and local banks, underscoring the festival's deep roots in the cultural life of the valleys and the entire Province of Cuneo. For the public, it is also an opportunity to discover Demonte and the upper Stura Valley, a corner of Piedmont rich in history, nature, and traditions, from the historic center with its porticoes to the alpine landscapes rising toward the Colle della Maddalena.
