Art exhibition and jazz concert in Grana Monferrato, as part of the Golosaria program
“A Life for Jazz” is an art exhibition hosted in Grana Monferrato, a small village in the Province of Asti, Piedmont. Promoted by the musical and cultural association Erremusica A.P.S. together with the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Grana, the exhibition is part of the rich program of Golosaria nel Monferrato, an event that celebrates the flavors, culture, and landscapes of the UNESCO-listed hills every year.
The exhibition features approximately forty works that tell the story of jazz through two different and complementary languages: the digital painting of Sarah Bowyer and the photography of Toni Laminarca. Images and colors capture the energy of live concerts, the gestures of the musicians, and the vibrant atmosphere of clubs and stages, transforming music into visual matter. The exhibition is set up at Via delle Scuole 9, in the town center.
The inauguration features a free concert by trumpeter, composer, and conductor Felice Reggio, an artist with a long career who has collaborated with great names in international music over the years. The program, titled “What a Wonderful World”, accompanies visitors at the opening of the exhibition with a tribute to the most beloved pieces of the jazz repertoire.
“A Life for Jazz” was born as a traveling project, designed to evolve over time and reach new audiences and venues. The Grana Monferrato stop represents a significant chapter, capable of uniting the musical dimension with visual arts in an intimate and cozy setting.
Including this event in the Golosaria calendar means linking it closely to the identity of the Asti Monferrato, a land of wines, rustic cuisine, and historic villages. Visiting the exhibition thus becomes an opportunity to discover the Municipality of Grana and the surrounding hills, among wineries, food festivals, and scenic routes typical of the Province of Asti.
For the 2026 edition, the “A Life for Jazz” exhibition is set up in Grana Monferrato from May 16 to 24 at Via delle Scuole 9. The exhibition gathers about forty works signed by Sarah Bowyer (digital painting) and Toni Laminarca (photography), all inspired by jazz and live music. The event is promoted by Erremusica A.P.S. with the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Grana, within Golosaria nel Monferrato.
