The XC Trofeo Del Bono e Piazza is the cross-country mountain bike race that brings Gorzegno to life, a small municipality in the province of Cuneo nestled in the Alta Langa, Piedmont. On a Sunday in early summer, the village transforms into the headquarters for dozens of bikers who challenge each other on a course carved through the woods, trails, and vineyards of the Langhe hills, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
A round of the Challenge MTB in Granda
The race is part of the Challenge MTB 2026 in Granda, a circuit that brings together five cross-country events distributed throughout the Cuneo province and surrounding areas. The initiative stems from the collaboration between various local cycling clubs—Centro Coordinamento Ciclismo Cuneo, ASD Gorzegno, ASD Ma.Gi. Cuneo, ASD Monastero di Vasco, and SC Trinità —with the aim of encouraging athlete participation in a calendar of easily accessible events and promoting the territories that host them. The Gorzegno stage is organized by ASD Gorzegno.
Categories and spirit of the race
The competition is open to all amateur cyclists regularly registered for the current competitive season, belonging to any sports promotion body. The race is divided into numerous categories—Beginners, Junior, Senior, Veterans, Gentlemen, Supergentlemen A, Supergentlemen B, and Women—to ensure a balanced challenge for every level of experience. It is the ideal occasion for those who love cycling in nature and for those looking for a sporty weekend away from the big cities, immersed in the colors and flavors of the Langhe.

The 2026 edition of the XC Trofeo Del Bono e Piazza will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in Gorzegno, in the province of Cuneo. It is the second of five rounds of the Challenge MTB 2026 in Granda, organized by ASD Gorzegno. The challenge winds through the cross-country trails of the Alta Langa and is open to amateur cyclists licensed for the current competitive season.

Cross-country mountain bike (XC) race valid for the Challenge MTB 2026 in Granda. The competition is divided into the following categories: Beginners, Junior, Senior, Veterans, Gentlemen, Supergentlemen A, Supergentlemen B, and Women (Primavera and Supergentlemen C are also admitted, without a dedicated ranking).
- Meeting, on-site registration, and start time according to the schedule communicated by ASD Gorzegno.
- Course carved out on the trails and dirt tracks of the Alta Langa hills.
For each category, points are awarded to the top ten finishers (15, 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1) valid for the final Challenge ranking.
Detailed meeting and start times will be communicated by the organizing club in the days preceding the race.

How to get there
Gorzegno can be reached by car from the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Ceva or Millesimo exit), continuing along the Bormida Valley, or from Alba and Cortemilia via the scenic roads of the Alta Langa. Public transport is limited: a car is recommended.
Registration and costs
The participation fee for the single race is 15 euros. Registration takes place through the organizing clubs according to the procedures of the Challenge MTB in Granda circuit.
Tips
Bring a well-maintained cross-country bike, an approved helmet, and clothing suitable for off-road riding. Take advantage of the day to stop at the restaurants and wineries of the Alta Langa.
