In the heart of summer, the small town of Castel Morrone, in the province of Caserta, celebrates one of the most authentic symbols of Campanian peasant cuisine: the zucchini flower. The Zucchini Flower Festival, affectionately renamed "Sciurilli Morronesi" in the local dialect, brings the Ganci-Pignatelli Municipal Park in the Largisi district to life every year, transforming it into a grand gathering of flavors, music, and conviviality.

The "sciurillo"—as zucchini flowers are called in the Campanian dialect—is a humble yet precious ingredient of the rural tradition of the Caserta area. During the festival, it is served in many variations: fried in a golden, crispy batter, stuffed, in frittatas, inside zeppole, or as a topping for homemade pasta. The food stalls managed by volunteers from the LiberaMente association also offer other local dishes, paired with regional wines.

The event is organized by the LiberaMente association of Castel Morrone, which manages every detail with the goal of promoting the village's products and traditions.
