About Milano Cortina 2026 — Sliding Centre

The Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics brought the sliding sports — bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge — to Cortina d'Ampezzo on the new Cortina Sliding Centre, the successor to the historic Eugenio Monti track. A 1,445-meter ice chute with 16 curves, in the heart of the Dolomites, where medals were awarded in monobob, two-man, and four-man bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge, in front of thousands of spectators.

Ice Sports Return to Cortina

The XXV Winter Olympic Games, Milan Cortina 2026, have chosen Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the province of Belluno, as the venue for sliding sports: bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge. The races took place on the Cortina Sliding Centre, the new facility succeeding the legendary Eugenio Monti track, a symbol of the 1956 Games.

A 1,445-meter Track with 16 Curves

The track spans 1,445 meters with 16 curves and an average gradient of 8.4%, with a capacity of approximately 4,650 spectators. It was here that an important chapter of the Games was written, with the breathtaking descents of bobsleigh and luge and the headfirst dives of skeleton, in a unique Dolomite setting.

Medals Awarded in Cortina

Olympic titles for women's monobob, two-man bobsleigh (men's and women's), four-man bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge were awarded on the Ampezzo track. The races attracted thousands of fans to Cortina d'Ampezzo and brought ice sports back to the place that was its cradle in Italy, in the heart of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
