Fire on Snow: Valdaora's New Year's Eve on the snow

Fire on Snow is the show that lights up the last night of the year in the Gassl area of Valdaora (Olang in German), at the foot of the Plan de Corones (Kronplatz) ski resort, in the province of Bolzano, in the Trentino-South Tyrol region. On the evening of December 31st, the slopes at the base of the lifts transform into a large open-air stage, where skiing, snow, fire, and lights intertwine in a 45-minute performance.

A show between tradition and modernity

The performance takes the audience on a fascinating journey through the history of skiing and Plan de Corones: from the first turns of the past to dynamic evolutions on snow and ice. The protagonists are the local ski school instructors and snowcats, which create luminous choreographies on the snowy slope in an evening filled with emotion, movement, and light.

The party continues at Gassl

At the end of the show, the evening continues at the Gassl après-ski, located right next to the slopes at the valley station of the Olang 1+2 cable car. Music, toasts, and celebrations mark the arrival of the new year in one of the liveliest areas of Valdaora. The event is designed for families, skiers, and tourists spending their winter holidays in the heart of the Dolomites.

Valdaora and Plan de Corones

Valdaora is one of the main resorts in the Plan de Corones area, the iconic mountain of the Puster Valley and one of the most famous ski carousels in the Dolomites. With Fire on Snow, the Municipality of Valdaora and the local Tourist Association offer one of the most anticipated events in the South Tyrolean winter calendar, combining the sporting spirit of the mountains with the magic of New Year's Eve.
