The Casciana Terme Lari Wellness Festival

The Wellness Festival is the Tuscan version of the World Wellness Weekend, a major international event that celebrates the culture of physical and mental well-being in dozens of countries every September. It is hosted by Casciana Terme Lari, a municipality in the Province of Pisa, Tuscany, created in 2014 from the merger of the ancient spa village of Casciana Terme and the medieval castle town of Lari. For an entire weekend, the area becomes a large, widespread space dedicated to "wellness for the five senses," with experiences designed for all ages.

An event spread across spas, nature, and tradition

The heart of the event is the Terme di Casciana, fed by the Mathelda water that flows at a constant temperature of approximately 35.7°C, prized for centuries for its therapeutic, regenerating, and relaxing properties. Surrounding the spa facility is a packed calendar of initiatives that bring the town's squares, parks, trails, and businesses to life, involving wellness professionals, associations, and local operators.

The program

The program alternates between gentle practices, sports, culture, and gastronomy. Recurring features of the editions include:

• Yoga and pilates outdoors, slow flow yoga sessions, and gentle gymnastics, accessible even to beginners;
• Holistic practices, massages, and naturopathic consultations;
• E-bike excursions, trekking, and guided cycling tours in the Valdera hills;
• Conferences and workshops on nutrition, medicinal herbs, essential oils, and thermal wellness;
• Tastings of local products, food and wine tours, and samplings of local olive oil;
• Open days at the Terme with free treatments upon reservation and discounts on treatments and cosmetic products;
• Live music and evening shows to close the days.

International recognition

The first edition in 2025 earned the prestigious "Most active city Italy" title from the international World Wellness Weekend association, rewarding the richness of the program and the high level of participation from activities and citizens. This result confirmed Casciana Terme Lari's vocation as a wellness destination and transformed the festival into the start of a broader journey, aimed at making the spa village a place where wellness becomes a daily experience.
