About WeinKulturFest

WeinKulturFest is the opening evening of the WeinKultur Erlebnisse, a series of events dedicated to wine culture in Marling, in the province of Bolzano. At the local Festplatz, regional winemakers host a 'tasting stroll' featuring South Tyrolean wines, spirits, liqueurs, and cocktails, paired with local dishes and live music. A convivial gathering in the heart of the Merano region, nestled at the foot of the Burggrafenamt vineyards.

WeinKulturFest in Marling

The WeinKulturFest Marling is the inaugural evening of the WeinKultur Erlebnisse, a summer-long series of events celebrating wine culture in Marling, a municipality in the Burggrafenamt district of the province of Bolzano, in the heart of the Merano region of Trentino-South Tyrol. The festival takes place at the village Festplatz on Via Franz Innerhofer, transforming the event square into a grand showcase for local wineries and regional products.

A tasting stroll through Marling's wineries

The heart of the event is the "tasting stroll": producers welcome visitors at their stands to share their craft, serving everything from local Marling wines to fine spirits, artisanal liqueurs, and creative cocktails. Several local producers participate, including the Merano Winery and the wine estates Popphof, Pardellerhof, Plonerhof, Hillepranter, Eichenstein, Geier, and Gruberhof, as well as the Lahnerhof distillery and the Bruggerhof liqueur producer. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the oenological variety of a dedicated region where rural tradition and hillside viticulture thrive side by side.

Local cuisine and live music

The wine is accompanied by dishes specially created for the festival and desserts prepared by the local farm women of Marling using regional ingredients. The evening is brought to life by live music from two local bands, creating a cheerful and convivial atmosphere until late. The WeinKulturFest is designed as the opening moment of a broader program, which continues for several weeks with guided winery tours, vineyard tastings, and events dedicated to the world of wine.

How to experience the festival

Admission to the Festplatz is free, and the pay-as-you-go format allows you to sample whatever you like. The village of Marling is easily accessible from Merano via public transport, particularly the 212 bus line and the Vinschgau Railway, whose station is about one kilometer from the center. It is the perfect event to combine food and wine, tradition, and alpine scenery.
