An entire weekend of art spread throughout the center of Perugia
WAU – United Arts Weekend is a multidisciplinary festival of urban creativity that animates the historic center of Perugia for an entire weekend. Inspired by the international art weekend format, the event brings together visual, figurative, and performing arts in a widespread itinerary that crosses studios, workshops, galleries, shops, and public spaces in the city.
The program combines exhibitions, performances, installations, flash mobs, readings, presentations, and unusual itineraries, hosted in both private spaces and public areas made available by the Municipality of Perugia: the former church of the Misericordia in via Oberdan, Palazzo della Penna, the Binni hall in Porta Sole, the arches of the covered Market, and some city libraries. Access to all initiatives is free.
The goal of WAU is to give visibility to artists, collectives, and associations often on the margins of official circuits, creating a network among the creative realities, spaces, and associations of the city. Promoted by the Municipality of Perugia, the festival represents an opportunity to rediscover the historic center through the lens of contemporary art and experimentation.
The second edition of WAU animated the historic center of Perugia from February 20 to 22, 2026, in a broader and more complex format than its debut. 46 venues were involved, including studios, workshops, galleries, shops, and public spaces, with 33 events, 18 exhibitions, and the participation of 88 artists and associations.
Meetings, flash mobs, installations, unusual itineraries, exhibitions, spontaneous performances, presentations, and readings took place in private spaces and public venues such as the former church of the Misericordia in via Oberdan, Palazzo della Penna, the Binni hall in Porta Sole, the arches of the covered Market, and some city libraries. The main new feature of this edition was the "Segnali" review, which extended the program until March 1.
New for 2026: the "Segnali" review extended the program until March 1. Free access to all initiatives.
The events take place in the historic center of Perugia, reachable by train (Fontivegge station) and by the Minimetrò or escalators from the park-and-ride lots.
Free access to all exhibitions, performances, and initiatives.
