A poetic and theatrical journey through the hidden places of Assisi
Every Corner Every Stone is a traveling theater project by the historic Assisi (Province of Perugia) company, Piccolo Teatro degli Instabili. It's not a classic stage show, but a widespread performance that leads the audience, in small groups, through the less-known alleys, courtyards, and corners of the historic center, transformed for the occasion into a theatrical stage.
Along the route, actors, voices, music, and installations build a poetic and dreamlike imagination of the city, intertwining Assisi's memory with the universal message of Saint Francis. It is an immersive experience that allows for the rediscovery of the village's most intimate and secret dimension, where Saint Francis composed the famous Canticle of the Creatures.
The performance is part of the Assisi Estate program and, in the edition linked to the VIII Centenary of Saint Francis, dialogues with 20th-century figures connected to the saint. An event that combines theatrical research, enhancement of urban heritage, and spirituality, presenting Assisi in a new light.
For 2026, between August and September, the Piccolo Teatro degli Instabili presents a new edition of Every Corner Every Stone in the alleys and courtyards of Assisi. The project is dedicated to three 20th-century figures connected to Saint Francis—William Congdon, Simone Weil, and Dario Fo—reinterpreted in a poetic and theatrical key.
The performance is part of the Assisi Estate 2026 program, dedicated to the VIII Centenary of the death of the Poor Man of Assisi. Precise dates and times are published on the official website; the traveling show involves limited group sizes.
The 2026 edition develops a traveling theatrical route dedicated to William Congdon, Simone Weil, and Dario Fo, three 20th-century figures linked to Saint Francis, through the hidden places of Assisi's historic center.
The detailed schedule of performances, with dates, times, and booking procedures, is published on the official website ogniangoloognipietra.it.
