The charity walk in Val Rendena through Strembo, Bocenago, and Caderzone Terme
The Walk for Life is a non-competitive charity walk that takes place every summer through the villages of Strembo, Bocenago, and Caderzone Terme, three small municipalities in Val Rendena, in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). The route, approximately 5 kilometers long, winds through a beautiful natural setting, among meadows, forests, and views of the Sarca River, offering participants a morning in the open air dedicated to movement and sharing.
The initiative began in 2021 and has quickly become a deeply felt event for the community, capable of uniting people of all ages in the name of solidarity. The walk is jointly organized by the Pro Loco associations of Strembo, Bocenago, and Caderzone Terme, which set up refreshment points and welcoming areas along the route. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Amici del Paolin Association, founded in 2017 to support projects dedicated to children affected by rare genetic diseases and people with disabilities.
Bocenago is a small municipality of about four hundred inhabitants nestled on the left bank of the Sarca River, a few kilometers south of Pinzolo and the renowned tourist resort of Madonna di Campiglio. Together with Strembo and Caderzone Terme, it forms a mosaic of alpine villages that preserve traditional architecture, historic fountains, and a strong sense of belonging. The walk is an opportunity to discover this authentic corner of Trentino, far from the major tourist flows, while enhancing the cohesion between the three communities.
The Walk for Life is part of a weekend dedicated to solidarity: the previous day, in fact, hosts "A Party for Everyone," another charitable initiative linked to the Amici del Paolin Association. At the end of the walk, in the afternoon, the event continues with a burraco tournament at the Oratory of Caderzone Terme, completing a day of fun and fundraising. All participants receive a souvenir gift, often a typical local product.
The event is suitable for families, casual walkers, and anyone wishing to contribute to a good cause while spending a few hours in the nature of Val Rendena.
The sixth edition of the Walk for Life took place on Sunday, July 5, 2026. The meeting point was set for 9:30 AM in front of the Strembo Town Hall, with greetings from the authorities and an initial refreshment, while the walk started at 10:00 AM. The route, approximately 5 kilometers long and non-competitive, passed through the villages of Strembo, Bocenago, and Caderzone Terme, arriving at Parco Crosetta in Caderzone Terme, with refreshment points set up along the way by the three Pro Loco associations.
The participation fee was 10 euros (free for children), with a souvenir gift of a local product for all registered participants. In the afternoon, at 2:30 PM, a burraco tournament was held at the Oratory of Caderzone Terme. All proceeds were donated to the Amici del Paolin Association, supporting people with disabilities and children with rare diseases.
Bocenago can be reached by car via the SS239 road of Val Rendena; from Trento, follow the Sarca Valley towards Tione and Pinzolo. The nearest train station is Trento, which is then connected by an extra-urban bus service to Val Rendena.
The participation fee is approximately 10 euros per person and includes a souvenir gift; children's participation is generally free. The meeting point is in front of the Strembo Town Hall, with departure in the morning. Advance registration is recommended by contacting the organizing Pro Loco associations.
Wear comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing suitable for mountain weather. The route is flat and suitable for everyone.
