The historic ecological walk on the trails of the Nardis Waterfalls in Val Genova
The Slaifera Carisöla is one of the most beloved outdoor events in Val Rendena: a non-competitive ecological walk held in Carisolo, a small town in the Autonomous Province of Trento, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. For half a century, the event has attracted hikers, mountain enthusiasts, and families who choose to spend a summer Sunday in touch with nature, among meadows, forests, and views of the Brenta Dolomites.
The local dialect name « Slaifera » recalls the local tradition and the community's deep bond with its territory. The event is carefully organized by the Pro Loco Carisolo, which manages the routes, refreshment points, and awards ceremonies every year with the help of numerous local volunteers.
The trail leads participants along paths that climb towards the striking Nardis Waterfalls, one of the natural landmarks at the entrance to Val Genova, the « valley of waterfalls » that opens up behind Carisolo and Pinzolo. Two routes are available: a shorter one of about 4 km, entirely accessible even to families with small children in strollers, and a more challenging one of about 11 km for those who wish to test themselves on a longer and more scenic itinerary.
This is not a speed race but a collective walk at a free pace, where the goal is to enjoy the landscape, the fresh mountain air, and the company. All participants receive a commemorative gadget of the edition.
The start is set in Piazza 2 Maggio, in the center of Carisolo, and the morning concludes with the awards ceremony and a convivial moment. The simple and accessible format makes the Slaifera an event designed for everyone: athletes, hikers, groups of friends, and especially families with children.
Included in the summer event calendar of the Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo, and Val Rendena area, the Slaifera Carisöla represents an opportunity to discover the beauty of Val Genova and its waterfalls, while promoting respect for the environment and the enhancement of mountain trails.
The Slaifera Carisöla celebrates an important milestone in 2026: the 50th edition. The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2026, in Carisolo, Val Rendena. The start is set for 9:15 AM from Piazza 2 Maggio, while the awards ceremony is expected at 11:45 AM.
The two trails that made the walk famous are confirmed: the 4 km route, accessible to families with children in strollers, and the longer 11 km route towards the Nardis Waterfalls. All participants will receive a commemorative gadget.
The organization is managed by the Pro Loco Carisolo. Participation is paid with mandatory booking, online or at the Pro Loco office, with a discount reserved for young people.
