The Volunteering Festival is the first major social event of the summer in Casale Marittimo, a small town in the Province of Pisa that is part of the prestigious 'Borghi più belli d'Italia' (Most Beautiful Villages in Italy) circuit and holds the Touring Club's Orange Flag. The event, organized by the local Pro Loco, transforms the streets and squares of the historic center into a grand meeting place where residents and visitors sit side by side to share good food and the pleasure of being together.

Perched 214 meters high on the Poggio al Pruno hill, Casale Marittimo commands a vast panorama that stretches from the Val di Cecina to the sea, just twelve kilometers away, and on clear days offers views of the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. Its medieval center, which remains almost intact with the Pieve di Sant'Andrea, narrow streets, and glimpses of the countryside, provides the ideal setting for a festival with an authentic flavor, far from mass tourism. The 2026 Volunteering Festival takes place on the evenings of Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12 in Casale Marittimo, the first event of the 'Estate a Casale Marittimo 2026' summer program. How to get there
Casale Marittimo is located in the hinterland of the Etruscan Coast, in the Province of Pisa. By car, it can be reached from the SS1 Aurelia road, taking the Cecina exit and continuing inland for about 12 km. The nearest train station is Cecina, on the Tyrrhenian line; from there, the village can be reached by car or local services.

Admission and dining
