Over twenty types of pasta plus music and dancing at the gates of Siena
The Volte Basse Pasta Festival is one of the most deep-rooted culinary events in the Sienese territory. Held at the Circolo ARCI Volte Basse APS, at Strada delle Volte Alte 41, just outside Siena (Province of Siena, Tuscany), it has been attracting food lovers from across the region for over thirty years. The 2026 edition marks the 31st anniversary of this popular event, brought to life by the club's volunteers, the true heart of the festival.
The highlight of the festival is, of course, the pasta: the food stalls offer over twenty varieties, ranging from classic Italian staples to original creations developed each year by the club's chefs. In addition to the first courses, there are plenty of main dishes, sides, and desserts, along with a well-stocked bar open until late. A welcome addition for 2026: the introduction of fish-based first and second courses, expanding the menu of this traditional pasta feast.
The Pasta Festival is about more than just food: every evening is accompanied by live music and DJ sets, with free entry to the dance floor after dinner. Featuring local bands, themed nights, and dance performances, the event is a go-to spot for families, young people, and music lovers, all set within the atmosphere of a traditional Tuscan village fair.
Organized entirely by the Circolo ARCI Volte Basse APS, the festival is the result of the hard work of many volunteers who manage the kitchen, table service, and entertainment every year. It is a perfect example of how Sienese festivals combine culinary tradition, social connection, and local roots, remaining an accessible and popular event at the gates of one of Italy's most famous art cities.
The 31st edition of the Volte Basse Pasta Festival was held in Siena on the weekends from May 29 to June 14, 2026 (May 29-June 1, June 5-7, June 12-14), at the Circolo ARCI Volte Basse APS on Strada delle Volte Alte 41.
The edition featured over twenty types of pasta, with the addition of fish-based first and second courses, alongside sides, desserts, and a bar. Food stalls opened at 7:30 PM each evening, followed by free dancing.
On other evenings throughout the three weekends, live bands, DJ sets, and themed parties (90s, reggaeton) were featured, with free entry to the dance floor after dinner.
