In the heart of the Ferrara plain, the Municipality of Voghiera (province of Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna) guards a unique product: Voghiera DOP Garlic, the first garlic in Italy to bear the European Protected Designation of Origin mark. The Voghiera DOP Garlic Fair is the event that every year, on the evenings of early August, celebrates this excellence in the courtyards of the splendid Delizia del Belriguardo, one of the most fascinating Este residences in the area.
A Renaissance setting
The Delizia del Belriguardo, commissioned by the Este family in the 15th century as a holiday residence, provides an unparalleled backdrop for the fair. Recent redevelopment works have brought to light the original Renaissance flooring and traces of an ancient Roman road, making the visit a journey through history and gastronomy. The various courtyards of the complex host the stalls, markets, and stages for performances.

Organized by the Voghiera DOP Garlic Producers Consortium with the collaboration of the municipal administration and the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the fair is much more than a village festival: it is the moment when an entire rural community showcases the fruit of its labor. For those visiting the Ferrara region in the summer, it is the ideal opportunity to discover an excellent product in the evocative setting of an Este court.

Voghiera DOP Garlic Fair 2026
The 2026 edition will be held from Friday, August 7 to Sunday, August 9, 2026 in the courtyards of the Delizia del Belriguardo in Voghiera (Ferrara), with evening openings. The dates are confirmed by the official registry of festivals of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
As per tradition, the fair will feature a food stall based on Voghiera DOP Garlic, an exhibition and sale of the product and black garlic, a market of typical flavors, an antique market, conferences dedicated to the DOP and IGP excellences of the territory, the TrofAglio for historic cars, and live music entertainment every evening. The program with times and names of musical guests will be published by the organizing Consortium in the weeks preceding the event.

The detailed program for the 2026 edition (times, musical evenings, and guests) will be announced by the Voghiera DOP Garlic Producers Consortium in the weeks preceding the event. Based on recent editions, the recurring structure of the three evenings includes:
- Previews in the preceding days with aperitif, PizzAglio, and entertainment in the Belriguardo courtyards;
- Opening of the food stall and inauguration of the fair, with live music in the evening;
- Technical conference with representatives of Emilia-Romagna's DOP products;
- TrofAglio, a gathering and regularity race for historic cars;
- Garlic salami competition and musical evenings.
Every evening, in the castle courtyards: exhibition and sale of Voghiera DOP Garlic and black garlic, market of typical Italian products, and antique market.

How to get there
Voghiera is located about 25 km from Ferrara, along the provincial road to Portomaggiore. By car: from the A13 motorway, exit at Ferrara Sud, then follow the SP for Voghiera. By train: Ferrara station, then bus connection towards Voghiera/Portomaggiore.
Venue
Delizia del Belriguardo, Voghiera (FE). The evenings take place in the courtyards of the Este complex.
Opening hours and admission
The fair is held in the evening (approximately from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM). Free admission to the exhibition areas; the food stall is paid according to the daily menu.
