Two weekends of music, gastronomy, and charity under the big top in the Val Germanasca
Vivi Aprile, known to all as Vivi Pomaretto, is the event that ignites spring in Pomaretto, a small town in the Val Germanasca within the Metropolitan City of Turin, in Piedmont. For two weekends in April, the sports facilities and the distinctive Minitop big top become the town's beating heart, hosting a packed program of music, gastronomy, culture, and sports.
The event weaves together great singer-songwriter music with the traditions of the Occitan and Waldensian culture of these valleys. Alongside concerts by well-known names on the Italian scene, there is space for ballroom orchestras, Occitan folk groups, and traditional dance evenings. There is no shortage of food and wine festivals celebrating local flavors: from gnocchi to plin, the famous Piedmontese ravioli, served under the tent in a festive, popular atmosphere.
Vivi Pomaretto is much more than a village festival: it is a community project for charity. The proceeds from the event are donated to solidarity initiatives, such as hosting children from Ukraine with families in the valley. The "United in Sport" evening, with its fun run and pasta distribution, highlights this charitable vocation that involves associations, volunteers, and citizens.
Pomaretto is easily reached from Pinerolo by traveling up the Val Germanasca: a perfect opportunity to discover this authentic corner of the Piedmontese Waldensian valleys.
Pomaretto is located in the Val Germanasca, in the Metropolitan City of Turin. By car from Turin, take the direction of Pinerolo, then head up the valley towards Perosa Argentina. It takes about 30 minutes from Pinerolo.
