Vintage cars and motorcycles in Canischio, in the heart of the Canavese region, for a rally of passion and solidarity
In the rolling hills of the Canavese region, the small town of Canischio (Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont) hosts one of the most heartfelt events for historic motor enthusiasts every year: the Vintage Car and Motorcycle Rally - Cristian Ronchetto Memorial. It is organized by the Gruppo Amici delle Vecchie Ruote, a non-profit association with over 150 members united by their passion for vintage two and four-wheeled vehicles.
The rally is held in memory of Cristian Ronchetto and bears his name with every edition: the number of the Memorial grows year by year, testifying to the continuity that binds the organizers, participants, and the entire community of Canischio. It is an appointment now firmly rooted in the Canavese calendar, capable of attracting crews from all over Piedmont and beyond.
For one weekend, the center of Canischio transforms into an open-air museum. Vintage cars and motorcycles, polished for the occasion, parade and are displayed along the streets and squares of the village. Enthusiasts can admire models that have made automotive and motorcycling history, exchange memories, and share anecdotes in the convivial atmosphere typical of village rallies.
What makes this rally special is its charitable soul. The proceeds from the event, along with donations collected from numerous companies, are donated to Casa UGI, the facility that hosts the families of children undergoing treatment at the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin. It is not rare for young patients to participate in the rally and have the joy of riding in the historic cars for an unforgettable trip: a gesture that gives the engine of these old wheels a deeply human meaning.
Canischio is a village of a few hundred inhabitants nestled in the greenery of the Canavese, at the foot of the mountains in the province of Turin. The rally is also an opportunity to discover this corner of Piedmont, far from mass tourism routes, and to experience the warm hospitality of a community that makes this event a highly anticipated appointment all year round.
The 2026 edition, scheduled for Sunday, June 14, marks the twentieth rally and the fourteenth Cristian Ronchetto Memorial. As per tradition, vintage cars and motorcycles will meet in Canischio for a day of exhibition, parades, and conviviality, with the usual charitable goal in favor of Casa UGI and the children undergoing treatment at the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin.
The organizers have issued an invitation to save the date: June 14, everyone to Canischio. Advance booking of your attendance is highly recommended.
The detailed program with times, meeting points, parades, and awards ceremonies will be announced by the Gruppo Amici delle Vecchie Ruote in the weeks leading up to the event. Based on past editions, the day generally includes the meeting and registration of crews in the morning, the exhibition of historic vehicles in the center of Canischio, a convivial moment, and awards in the afternoon. For confirmation of times and details, it is recommended to contact the organizers (tel. +39 339 7300111).
Canischio is located in the Canavese area, in the province of Turin, near Cuorgnè. By car from the A5 Turin-Aosta motorway, take the Ivrea or San Giorgio Canavese exit, then continue towards the Canavese region following signs for Cuorgnè and Canischio.
Participation with your own historic vehicle requires advance booking with the Gruppo Amici delle Vecchie Ruote. For information and registration: tel. +39 339 7300111, email [email protected].
Proceeds are donated to Casa UGI to support children undergoing treatment at the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin.
