Wine and local food tastings in the historic cellars of Spinazzola
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Vini e Sapori al Borgo is the food and wine event that transforms the historic center of Spinazzola, in the heart of the Murgia region (Puglia), into a grand open-air tasting trail. For one summer evening, the ancient cellars, old workshops, and disused rural spaces of the village come back to life: local food and wine producers set up their stalls along the alleys, offering visitors wines, typical products, and samples of local peasant traditions.
The public explores the village, moving from cellar to cellar with glass in hand, on an itinerary that blends gastronomy, culture, and the rediscovery of urban heritage. The offerings include Murgia wines, local cured meats and cheeses, bread, and baked goods, alongside specialties that reflect the agricultural vocation of Spinazzola. The event is more than just a food market: the route features folk music, traveling performances, and moments dedicated to local ethnographic traditions, often accompanied by projections and installations that highlight the palaces and churches of the historic center.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Torre e Pino of Spinazzola (a member of UNPLI), with the involvement of local associations and the support of entities committed to promoting the Murgia region. Created to showcase local food and wine production and the identity of the village, it has become one of the most anticipated summer evenings for the community and visitors alike. The 2025 edition, the eleventh, took place on Sunday, August 10th, during the night of San Lorenzo, drawing numerous visitors to the streets of the old town.
Vini e Sapori al Borgo is an invitation to experience Spinazzola in a different light, amidst authentic flavors, summer atmosphere, and the memory of a village that, for one night, reopens its ancient cellars.
The return of Vini e Sapori al Borgo in Spinazzola (BT) is expected, as in previous years, in the heart of summer, with the usual tasting trail of wines and local products among the cellars of the historic village. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the Pro Loco Torre e Pino: as soon as they are available, the official date, the evening's program, and the list of participating agricultural and wine producers will be published here.
The event takes place among the alleys and cellars of the historic center of Spinazzola (BT), in Puglia.
By car: Spinazzola can be reached via the SS 97 and the provincial roads of the Murgia, northwest of Bari. By train: the Spinazzola station is served by regional lines connecting the Murgia area. Nearest airports: Bari-Palese and, alternatively, Foggia.
Access to the village trail is free; tastings of wines and local products are purchased directly at the stalls of the participating producers. Comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for the historic center's streets are recommended.
