About Mediterranean Artichoke Fair

The National Mediterranean Artichoke and Produce Fair is the most important agricultural event in San Ferdinando di Puglia, in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani. Every November, the Via Gramsci exhibition area celebrates the artichoke, the heart of the local economy, alongside peaches, apricots, and other horticultural treasures of the Apulian territory. Four days featuring producer stands, tastings, street food, shows, and family attractions.

A fair that tells the story of the Apulian land

The National Mediterranean Artichoke and Produce Fair is the most anticipated event of the year in San Ferdinando di Puglia, in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani. Established in the 1960s, it is now one of the longest-running agricultural exhibitions in Apulia: in November 2025, it celebrated its 65th edition, a testament to a tradition that has been renewed for over sixty years.

The event was created to showcase the territory's signature product, the artichoke, around which much of the town's agricultural economy revolves, along with the cultivation and processing of peaches and apricots. The fair is promoted by the Municipality of San Ferdinando di Puglia with the support of the Apulia Region.

Where and when

The event is held every year in November at the spacious Via Gramsci exhibition area. For four days, the fairgrounds transform into a large open-air and indoor space that combines agriculture, food and wine, commerce, and entertainment, with free admission.

A new format for producers and families

In recent editions, the fair has adopted a renewed format that divides the area into different thematic zones:

  • a dedicated exhibition pavilion with booths for agricultural companies in the produce sector;
  • an events zone with a central stage for shows, music, and conferences;
  • a space for displaying agricultural machinery and vehicles;
  • a commercial area and markets;
  • the "Mangia in Fiera" food and wine trail, featuring street food and wine tastings from Apulian wineries;
  • a family area with a funfair and Candy Village, including a Ferris wheel, rides, and games for children.

Flavors and tradition

The heart of the fair remains the Mediterranean artichoke, the star of tastings, show cooking, and traditional Apulian peasant dishes. Alongside local producers, other horticultural excellences of the territory and typical products are showcased, in a journey that combines the promotion of quality agriculture with the pleasure of dining.

An event for the territory

More than just a food festival, the National Artichoke Fair is an economic and cultural showcase for the entire northern Apulia region: an opportunity to bring together producers, companies, and families, and to share the agricultural identity of San Ferdinando di Puglia with an audience that arrives every year from across the province and beyond.

Mediterranean Artichoke Fair — edition 2026

The 66th edition of the National Mediterranean Artichoke and Produce Fair is expected in San Ferdinando di Puglia in November 2026. Official dates and the 2026 program have not yet been announced: the event takes place every autumn at the Via Gramsci exhibition area, featuring agricultural stands, food and wine, and family attractions.

The National Mediterranean Artichoke Fair will return to San Ferdinando di Puglia for its 66th edition, scheduled as per tradition in November 2026. As of now, the Municipality has not yet published the official dates and the detailed program for the 2026 edition.

Based on previous editions, the fair will occupy the Via Gramsci exhibition area with the agricultural pavilion, the food and wine trail, the performance area, and the funfair for families.
