The sweet bunches of Alto Bradano are the stars in October
When autumn colors the countryside of Alto Bradano, Genzano di Lucania celebrates the fruits of the earth with the Grape and Typical Products Festival. This is the grape harvest festival of this large agricultural village in the province of Potenza, an event that has drawn visitors from all over Basilicata and beyond for years, organized with passion by the Pro Loco Genzano di Lucania.
The absolute star is the sweet grape of Alto Bradano, offered for tasting along the streets of the historic center along with local wine and typical Lucanian cuisine dishes. Accompanying the flavors are folk dances and popular music, traveling groups, craft stands, and entertainment for families, in an atmosphere that blends taste, conviviality, and peasant tradition.
The festival is also a journey into the gastronomic identity of the town, where viticulture and agriculture have always marked the life of the community. Walking among the stands means discovering the genuine products of Alto Bradano and breathing in the pride of a territory that makes its authentic flavors a reason for celebration. An ideal weekend to get to know Genzano di Lucania at its most convivial moment.
After the success of the tenth edition in 2025, the Grape and Typical Products Festival returns to Genzano di Lucania for its eleventh edition, expected in October 2026. The Pro Loco renews the grape harvest festival with tastings of sweet grapes from Alto Bradano, wine, typical dishes, folk dances, and craft stands in the historic center.
The precise dates and program for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Pro Loco Genzano di Lucania in the weeks preceding the event. The traditional structure, over two days, includes:
