Non-competitive cycle-touring event in the Pinerolo plains
Vigone Gravel is a non-competitive cycle-touring event that invites cycling enthusiasts to explore the countryside of Vigone, a town in the Pinerolo plains in the province of Turin, in the heart of Piedmont. Organized by the cycling association G.S. Vigone Bike ASD, the initiative is designed for those who love cycling outside the logic of racing: no stopwatches, no rankings, just the pleasure of riding in company along the white roads of the Po Valley.
The event offers two tracks, of 50 and 100 kilometers, designed to showcase the best dirt roads of the Turin plains. These are predominantly flat routes that alternate between sections of white roads and short paved stretches, crossing the agricultural landscape surrounding Vigone: cultivated fields, irrigation ditches, canals, and historic farmhouses typical of the Pinerolo area. The event is open to those riding gravel bikes, mountain bikes, or e-bikes, and welcomes both well-trained cyclists and those looking for a quiet day in the open air.
In keeping with the tradition of free cycle-touring, Vigone Gravel does not feature a single group start: the meeting point is set at the Bocciofila di Vigone, on Via Cristoforo Colombo, and the start is 'à la française', meaning staggered, with participants setting off freely along the marked routes or those uploaded to their GPS devices. This format allows everyone to manage their own pace and stops.
The G.S. Vigone Bike is an amateur sports association based in Vigone, affiliated with CSAIN Ciclismo and A.R.I. Audax Randonneur Italia. For years, the group has promoted cyclorandonnées and non-competitive cycle-touring outings in the area, including the historic Randonnée di Vigone. Vigone Gravel represents the natural evolution of this passion towards the world of gravel, which is increasingly popular in Piedmont and throughout Italy.
Cycling around Vigone means discovering an authentic corner of the Piedmont plains, just a few kilometers from Pinerolo and the first hills rising towards the Olympic valleys. The territory, rich in water and orderly countryside, offers ideal terrain for gravel riding: accessible distances, gentle elevation changes, and a rural landscape that changes with the seasons. An opportunity to combine sport, nature, and the discovery of the Province of Turin.
Vigone Gravel debuted on Sunday, April 19, 2026, in Vigone, in the province of Turin, marking the entry into the world of gravel for G.S. Vigone Bike ASD. The event, non-competitive and open to all, offered two routes of 50 and 100 km through the dirt tracks of the Pinerolo plains, suitable for gravel bikes, mountain bikes, or e-bikes.
The meeting point was set at the Bocciofila di Vigone, on Via Cristoforo Colombo, with registration and reception starting from 8:00 AM and the 'à la française' start from 9:00 AM. Participants were able to ride at their own pace along the marked trails, immersed in the agricultural landscape of fields, canals, and farmhouses that characterizes this corner of the Province of Turin.
Non-competitive event open to gravel bikes, MTB, and e-bikes. Helmet mandatory.
Meeting point and start at the Bocciofila di Vigone, Via Cristoforo Colombo 6A, 10067 Vigone (TO), Piedmont.
