About Vigone Gravel

Vigone Gravel is a non-competitive cycle-touring event organized by G.S. Vigone Bike ASD in Vigone, in the province of Turin. Open to all cycling enthusiasts on gravel bikes, mountain bikes, or e-bikes, it offers two routes of 50 and 100 kilometers through dirt roads and the countryside of the Piedmont plains. Meeting point and 'à la française' start at the Bocciofila in Vigone: a free ride to discover the Pinerolo area among dirt tracks, canals, and farmhouses.

Vigone Gravel: free riding on the dirt tracks of the Pinerolo area

Vigone Gravel is a non-competitive cycle-touring event that invites cycling enthusiasts to explore the countryside of Vigone, a town in the Pinerolo plains in the province of Turin, in the heart of Piedmont. Organized by the cycling association G.S. Vigone Bike ASD, the initiative is designed for those who love cycling outside the logic of racing: no stopwatches, no rankings, just the pleasure of riding in company along the white roads of the Po Valley.

Two routes through fields, canals, and farmhouses

The event offers two tracks, of 50 and 100 kilometers, designed to showcase the best dirt roads of the Turin plains. These are predominantly flat routes that alternate between sections of white roads and short paved stretches, crossing the agricultural landscape surrounding Vigone: cultivated fields, irrigation ditches, canals, and historic farmhouses typical of the Pinerolo area. The event is open to those riding gravel bikes, mountain bikes, or e-bikes, and welcomes both well-trained cyclists and those looking for a quiet day in the open air.

An 'à la française' start

In keeping with the tradition of free cycle-touring, Vigone Gravel does not feature a single group start: the meeting point is set at the Bocciofila di Vigone, on Via Cristoforo Colombo, and the start is 'à la française', meaning staggered, with participants setting off freely along the marked routes or those uploaded to their GPS devices. This format allows everyone to manage their own pace and stops.

Vigone Bike, the soul of the event

The G.S. Vigone Bike is an amateur sports association based in Vigone, affiliated with CSAIN Ciclismo and A.R.I. Audax Randonneur Italia. For years, the group has promoted cyclorandonnées and non-competitive cycle-touring outings in the area, including the historic Randonnée di Vigone. Vigone Gravel represents the natural evolution of this passion towards the world of gravel, which is increasingly popular in Piedmont and throughout Italy.

Vigone and the Pinerolo area in the saddle

Cycling around Vigone means discovering an authentic corner of the Piedmont plains, just a few kilometers from Pinerolo and the first hills rising towards the Olympic valleys. The territory, rich in water and orderly countryside, offers ideal terrain for gravel riding: accessible distances, gentle elevation changes, and a rural landscape that changes with the seasons. An opportunity to combine sport, nature, and the discovery of the Province of Turin.
