A new festival at the foot of the castle

On July 19, 2026, Vicalvi inaugurates its first Grilled Meat Festival, a new gastronomic highlight of the summer in the Comino Valley, in the province of Frosinone. The setting is Parco Bosseto, the town's green space, watched over from above by the medieval Lombard-era castle that gives the village its unmistakable silhouette: its walls still bear the large red cross painted when the fortress served as a military hospital during World War II.

The program announced by the official 2026 Vicalvi Summer poster packs three great reasons to visit Vicalvi into a single evening. From 9:00 PM, the grills at Parco Bosseto will be fired up for the festival, serving freshly prepared grilled meat: a tribute to the convivial tradition of Ciociaria village festivals, where open fire and shared tables have always been the heart of the celebration.

Cabaret with Nduccio and his band

Accompanying the dinner is a cabaret evening with Nduccio, born Germano D'Aurelio, an Abruzzese comedian and singer who has been bringing his repertoire of sketches and popular songs in dialect to squares across Central Italy for over thirty years. He will perform on the Parco Bosseto stage with his band for a show that blends live music and popular comedy, suitable for all ages.

The evening is rounded off by a classic car exhibition: vintage vehicles on display along the park's paths, perfect for admiring while strolling between stands. A vintage touch that adds charm to the festival and offers motor enthusiasts an extra reason to attend.

Vicalvi and the Comino Valley

Vicalvi is one of the smallest villages in the province of Frosinone, perched on a hill overlooking the Comino Valley, between Sora and Atina, not far from the Posta Fibreno Lake Nature Reserve. The Municipality of Vicalvi, which promotes the festival directly through its administration, focuses on summer events to showcase this authentic corner of Ciociaria in the Lazio Region: stone alleys, panoramic views of the valley, and a genuine gastronomic tradition made of meats, cheeses, and mountain products.

The festival effectively opens the 2026 Vicalvi Summer calendar, which continues with the Pro Loco evening "E via cantando" on July 25 in Piazza Giovanni Paolo II, karaoke with a culinary evening on August 9, the Ferragosto card tournament in the historic center, and the Crespella Festival on August 17 at the San Rocco church square. A summer of widespread festivities that makes Vicalvi an ideal stop for those exploring the Comino Valley in July and August.
