About Sora Long Table

In early September, the historic center of Sora, in the province of Frosinone, transforms into one immense open-air dining room. Una Tavolata Lunga un Corso sets a table approximately 800 meters long along Corso Volsci, featuring thousands of seats, traditional Ciociaria dishes served by local businesses, live music, a craft market, and children's entertainment. It is an end-of-summer celebration that brings locals and tourists together in a grand moment of conviviality.

An 800-meter table in the heart of Sora

Una Tavolata Lunga un Corso is the event that symbolically closes the summer in Sora, a city in the Liri Valley in the province of Frosinone, in southern Lazio. For one evening in early September, Corso Volsci—the main street of the historic center—is closed to traffic and set with a single, incredibly long table of about 800 meters. It starts at the entrance of the course, near Piazza Indipendenza, runs the entire length of the street to Piazza Esedra, and continues along Via Cittadella to Piazza Cesare Baronio. Thousands of people dine side-by-side under the city lights: an image that has quickly become one of the most recognizable symbols of life in Sora.

A recent history, continuous growth

The first edition dates back to 2022, when the table welcomed about 2,500 diners. The success was immediate, and the event has grown with every edition. In 2025, for the fourth edition, seating exceeded 3,500 and sold out days in advance, while organizers announced their ambition to nominate the event for the Guinness World Records. The initiative is promoted by the Permanent Committee of the Liri Carnival, led by Pietro Marcelli and Annamaria Giordano, with the support of the Municipality of Sora: the same association that brings the city's carnival to life now brings its signature spirit of celebration and community to the streets at the end of summer.

Ciociaria cuisine takes center stage

The heart of the event is gastronomy. Diners are served by the restaurants, pizzerias, and businesses in the center, each managing their own section of the table. The menu features traditional Ciociaria dishes such as sagne e fagioli, truffle gnocchi, and sheep arrosticini, as well as pizzas and sandwiches. It is a simple, genuine formula that highlights local products and turns the dinner into a true popular festival, where you sit next to strangers and leave having made new friends.

Beyond the table: music, crafts, and children's fun

Surrounding the long table, the historic center comes alive with a rich program of entertainment:

  • Live music and performances along the route and in Piazza Santa Restituta, where an engaging singing and dancing show took place during the 2025 edition;
  • Craft market in Piazza Indipendenza, featuring creations by local artisans;
  • Children's area in the small square of Santo Spirito, with games and entertainment dedicated to families.

Why attend

Una Tavolata Lunga un Corso is not just a simple food festival: it is a collective ritual that tells the story of the identity of Sora and the Ciociaria region. Sitting at a shared table with thousands of people in the city's living room is an experience of authentic conviviality, made even more evocative by the setting of the historic center and the end-of-summer atmosphere. For those visiting southern Lazio in September, it is an appointment to mark on your calendar—just remember to book your spot in time, as the table regularly sells out.

Sora Long Table — edition 2026

The fifth edition of Una Tavolata Lunga un Corso is expected in Sora for September 2026, but the official date has not yet been announced by the Permanent Committee of the Liri Carnival. Following the 2025 sell-out, with over 3,500 seats along Corso Volsci, organizers have stated their intention to repeat and exceed the success of the last edition, aiming for a Guinness World Record nomination.
