The grand open-air dinner along Corso Volsci, in the heart of Sora
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Una Tavolata Lunga un Corso is the event that symbolically closes the summer in Sora, a city in the Liri Valley in the province of Frosinone, in southern Lazio. For one evening in early September, Corso Volsci—the main street of the historic center—is closed to traffic and set with a single, incredibly long table of about 800 meters. It starts at the entrance of the course, near Piazza Indipendenza, runs the entire length of the street to Piazza Esedra, and continues along Via Cittadella to Piazza Cesare Baronio. Thousands of people dine side-by-side under the city lights: an image that has quickly become one of the most recognizable symbols of life in Sora.
The first edition dates back to 2022, when the table welcomed about 2,500 diners. The success was immediate, and the event has grown with every edition. In 2025, for the fourth edition, seating exceeded 3,500 and sold out days in advance, while organizers announced their ambition to nominate the event for the Guinness World Records. The initiative is promoted by the Permanent Committee of the Liri Carnival, led by Pietro Marcelli and Annamaria Giordano, with the support of the Municipality of Sora: the same association that brings the city's carnival to life now brings its signature spirit of celebration and community to the streets at the end of summer.
The heart of the event is gastronomy. Diners are served by the restaurants, pizzerias, and businesses in the center, each managing their own section of the table. The menu features traditional Ciociaria dishes such as sagne e fagioli, truffle gnocchi, and sheep arrosticini, as well as pizzas and sandwiches. It is a simple, genuine formula that highlights local products and turns the dinner into a true popular festival, where you sit next to strangers and leave having made new friends.
Surrounding the long table, the historic center comes alive with a rich program of entertainment:
Una Tavolata Lunga un Corso is not just a simple food festival: it is a collective ritual that tells the story of the identity of Sora and the Ciociaria region. Sitting at a shared table with thousands of people in the city's living room is an experience of authentic conviviality, made even more evocative by the setting of the historic center and the end-of-summer atmosphere. For those visiting southern Lazio in September, it is an appointment to mark on your calendar—just remember to book your spot in time, as the table regularly sells out.
The 2026 edition of Una Tavolata Lunga un Corso has not yet been officially confirmed. Based on previous editions, the event is expected in Sora in the first part of September, along Corso Volsci and the squares of the historic center. At the end of the 2025 edition, which sold out with over 3,500 diners, organizers from the Permanent Committee of the Liri Carnival announced their intention to renew the event, surpass previous attendance, and work toward entering the Guinness World Records. The formula is expected to follow the established one: a grand convivial table served by local businesses featuring traditional Ciociaria dishes, live music, a craft market, and an area dedicated to children. The date, program, and booking methods will be published on the committee and Municipality of Sora channels: this page will be updated as soon as official information becomes available.
Sora can be reached by car from the A1 motorway (Frosinone or Ferentino exits, then the Sora-Frosinone highway) or from the Sora-Avezzano-A24/A25 highway. Corso Volsci is in the historic center: on the evening of the event, the course and surrounding streets are closed to traffic, with specific ordinances regarding circulation and parking; it is advisable to park in areas outside the center and continue on foot.
Seats at the table are limited (over 3,500 in the 2025 edition) and sell out days in advance: inquire in time with participating businesses and the organizing committee's channels. Payment for food is made directly to the restaurateurs serving your section of the table.
The dinner kicks off in the evening, approximately from 8:00 PM, with shows and entertainment continuing until late.
