Born from the collaboration between the Gruppo 33 of Condove, the valley's Habitat Committee, and figures like Carla Nosenzo Gobetti and filmmaker Armando Ceste, the festival owes much to Bruno Carli, a partisan and the association's first president, to whom the festival's signature award is dedicated today.

Every year, the festival spreads across several municipalities in the upper and lower valley, with the heart of the film competition in Condove and numerous side events elsewhere.
