Publishers, bookstores, and authors from the Susa Valley showcased in the historic center
The Valsusa Book Fair is a celebration of books and reading promoted by the Valsusa Library System, highlighting the publishers, bookstores, and authors of the Susa Valley. In 2026, the event arrives in the historic center of Susa (Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont): for an entire day, Via Palazzo di Città and the surrounding areas host local publisher stalls, turning the town into a large open-air library.
The core of the fair is the exhibition of publishing houses and bookstores from the valley and Piedmont: entities that preserve and share the identity of the region, ranging from local history and mountain themes to fiction, poetry, and children's literature. Alongside the exhibitors, the day is punctuated by book presentations and meetings with writers, providing an opportunity to engage directly with authors and discover the latest editorial releases.
The Susa Valley has always been a land of passage and cultural exchange, and this fair celebrates its intellectual vibrancy. For readers, it is a chance to browse titles rarely found in major retail chains, get advice from booksellers, and support small independent publishing. The setting of Susa, a city of Roman origin at the foot of the Alps, adds charm to an event that combines books, leisurely walks, and the discovery of the historic center.
A free, open-air event, perfect for spending a day among the pages and streets of one of the most evocative locations in the Susa Valley.
For 2026, the Valsusa Book Fair enlivens the historic center of Susa, transforming Via Palazzo di Città into an open-air bookstore. The event is included in the City's summer program presented in May 2026 and is one of the cultural novelties of the season.
The stalls host various local publishing houses, including Atene del Canavese, Baima Ronchetti, Edizioni Joker, Graffio, and Las Vegas Edizioni, with a wide selection of titles from the Piedmont region. Book presentations kick off at 11:00 AM, with meetings aimed at readers of all ages.
Admission is free, and the fair takes place outdoors throughout the day, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Participating publishing houses: Atene del Canavese, Baima Ronchetti, Edizioni Joker, Graffio, Las Vegas Edizioni.
Details of individual titles presented and the schedule for each meeting will be communicated by the organization in the days leading up to the event.
