The accordion arrives in Ziano di Fiemme

The Valli dell'Avisio Accordion Festival is one of the most original summer music events in Trentino. Established in 2015 and organized by the Pro Loco of Castello-Molina di Fiemme, every July it transforms the Avisio valleys into a vast, widespread stage for ten days, where the accordion takes center stage. Among the municipalities involved is Ziano di Fiemme, in Val di Fiemme (Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige), which hosts one of the festival's stops thanks to the collaboration of the Pro Loco de Suàn.

In Ziano, the concert is usually held in the Parish Theatre or in the village squares, in the evening, with free admission. It is an opportunity to discover a surprisingly versatile instrument and to experience an evening of live music in a typical Dolomite village, nestled among the woods and mountains of Val di Fiemme.

A travelling festival in the valleys of Trentino

The festival's format is itinerant: the events are not concentrated in a single location but span dozens of municipalities and hamlets. From its base in Molina di Fiemme, the festival extends to the Fiemme, Fassa, and Cembra valleys, also reaching the Tesino, the Vigolana Plateau, the Vallagarina, the Mocheni Valley, and the Piana Rotaliana. Ziano di Fiemme is thus one of the many locations that, with its own Pro Loco, helps build the concert calendar.

A versatile instrument, a thousand musical genres

The festival's strength lies in showcasing how surprisingly versatile the accordion is: from folk music to waltzes, polkas to tango, and even jazz, classical music, and fusions with dance and theatre. Each edition weaves Alpine tradition with new experimentation, alternating concerts in town squares with theatrical evenings and cultural events. Over the years, prominent performers have graced the stage in Ziano di Fiemme, including young Styrian accordion champions like Ermes Costa.

Music for everyone

One of the festival's most beautiful features is its commitment to solidarity: every year, some concerts are held in local nursing homes to bring music to those who cannot travel. With its network of partner Pro Loco associations—including the Pro Loco de Suàn in Ziano di Fiemme—the Valli dell'Avisio Accordion Festival has become a staple of the Trentino cultural summer.
