Local crafts and valley flavors every summer Friday
The Val di Rabbi Market is a weekly event that brings the colors and scents of the mountains to the streets of San Bernardo, the main village of the Municipality of Rabbi in the province of Trento, throughout July and August. Every Friday afternoon, stalls are set up in the heart of the village, offering residents and tourists a journey to discover the craftsmanship and gastronomic excellence of this side valley of the Val di Sole.
The market was created to showcase the region's small-scale producers and artisans. Strolling among the exhibitors, you will find handmade wooden objects, textiles, and traditional creations, alongside the valley's typical products: alpine cheeses, butter, honey, jams, medicinal herbs, and genuine specialties that tell the story of mountain life. It is the perfect chance to take home an authentic souvenir and chat with those who still produce according to the rhythms and wisdom of the past.
Val di Rabbi is one of the most pristine valleys in Trentino-Alto Adige. Nestled within the Stelvio National Park, it stretches across forests, streams, and ancient farmsteads, encompassing the hamlets of San Bernardo, Rabbi Fonti, Pracorno, and Piazzola. Here, nature takes center stage, and tourism remains human-scaled, far from the crowds. The Friday market fits perfectly into this setting, combining slow shopping with the discovery of an alpine environment of rare beauty, complete with the thermal waters of Rabbi and hiking trails leading to high-altitude lakes.
Friday afternoons become a moment of gathering and celebration: families on vacation take advantage of the market for a stroll among the stalls, often accompanied by other summer events in the valley. It is a simple and genuine way to experience the hospitality of Val di Rabbi and support the local economy of the Municipality of Rabbi, in the spirit of Trentino tradition.
In 2026, the summer market returns to San Bernardo, in the Municipality of Rabbi, for four Friday afternoon sessions: July 10 and 17 and August 20 and 27, 2026, with stalls opening from approximately 3:00 PM.
This year, the market once again features local handmade crafts, traditional valley products such as alpine cheeses, honey, and mountain herbs, as well as gift ideas and gastronomic specialties. It is a great opportunity to enjoy the village center and meet the small-scale producers of Val di Rabbi.
