A night of stars above the Chisone Valley

Among the most evocative summer events in San Germano Chisone, a small town in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont, is Under the Stars, the night hike to Colle Lazzarà organized by the Pro Loco of San Germano Chisone with the support of the municipality. The event is part of the San Germano Summer – Nature and Culture program and features a simple yet effective formula: head up to the mountains at sunset, enjoy an outdoor dinner, and look up at the sky.

The destination is Colle Lazzarà, at an altitude of 1,595 meters, which can be reached from Pramollo with an easy 45-minute hike suitable for everyone. Far from the light pollution of the plains, the pass is an ideal vantage point for stargazing: the absence of artificial light makes the night sky exceptionally clear, offering a view that is now impossible to enjoy in the city.

Nature, astronomy, and music

The evening is more than just a hike. After the picnic dinner shared with other participants, there will be a short introduction to the starry sky focusing on planets, stars, and the universe, led by Marco Varvello. To complete the atmosphere, an acoustic musical moment with violin and clarinet will accompany the observation of the firmament, turning the stop at the summit into an intimate and reflective experience.

Like many initiatives in the small towns of the Chisone Valley, in the province of Turin, Under the Stars was born from the voluntary commitment of the local Pro Loco and is aimed at both residents and visitors who want to discover the Pinerolo valleys in an unusual way.
