Three days of music, entertainment, and local flavors in the heart of Morro d'Oro
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Under the September Sky is an open-air event held in Piazza Duca degli Abruzzi, in the heart of Morro d'Oro, a small town in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo. Established in 2025 as a new initiative by the Pro Loco Morro d'Oro, the festival is designed to bid farewell to summer with three days of joy, community, and entertainment, open to both locals and visitors from neighboring villages.
The program weaves together various forms of popular entertainment. During the evenings, the square fills with live music, while dedicated areas host children's entertainment with games and activities tailored for the little ones. There is also magic: in the first edition, an entire session was dedicated to an illusionist show, featuring sleight of hand, laughter, and direct audience participation. The atmosphere remains that of a typical Abruzzo village festival, where the square becomes a meeting point for all generations.
A significant focus is placed on gastronomy: food stalls set up along the square offer traditional dishes and products from the Teramo region, perfect for enjoying outdoors during the festival evenings. The food and wine selection keeps guests company from aperitif time until late at night, in a convivial atmosphere that recalls the best traditions of summer village fairs.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Morro d'Oro in collaboration with the Stefano Bizzarri Musical Association and with the patronage of the Municipality of Morro d'Oro. The goal is to enliven the village center and showcase public spaces, offering residents and tourists a chance to gather during the first, gentle evenings of September, when the Abruzzo air turns crisp but the spirit of togetherness remains vibrant.
Nestled in the hills of Teramo, a short distance from the Adriatic coast, Morro d'Oro preserves the intimate atmosphere of Abruzzo villages, with its historic center and living folk traditions. Festivals like this help promote the town and strengthen the bond between the community and its territory, in a region where town square festivals have always been a central part of social life.
