The Romagna stage of the Adriatic Series circuit, featuring swimming, cycling, and running at the foot of the Pirate's statue
The Triathlon Cesenatico - Adriatic Series is one of the flagship stages of the Adriatic Series Triathlon circuit, the multi-discipline event of the Adriatic coast that runs throughout the season with eight appointments from spring to autumn. In Cesenatico, a pearl of the Romagna Riviera in the Province of Forlรฌ-Cesena, the event attracts around 600 athletes from all over Italy each year, transforming the seaside town into the capital of Emilia-Romagna triathlon for a weekend.
The sporting program is spread over several days and offers three distinct formats, valid for the Adriatic Series circuit ranking and approved by FITRI (Italian Triathlon Federation):
The race village, the transition area, and the expo area are centered in Piazza Marconi, at the foot of the statue dedicated to Marco Pantani, the "Pirata" (Pirate), a symbol of Cesenatico and Italian cycling. The swimming leg takes place in the Adriatic waters off the beach, while the cycling and running courses wind along the seafront and through the historic center, with the picturesque Leonardesco canal port as a backdrop. To ensure athlete safety, the Municipality of Cesenatico implements significant traffic modifications on race days.
Beyond the competitive aspect, the Cesenatico Triathlon is a celebration for the entire community: a pasta party, awards ceremonies, and an expo area liven up the weekend, with an organization attentive to accessibility for people with disabilities. The event is organized by Flipper Triathlon with the support of the Municipality of Cesenatico and law enforcement agencies.
The weekend of April 18-19, 2026, confirmed Cesenatico as one of the most fascinating and complete stages of the Adriatic Series Triathlon, with approximately 600 athletes at the start. Three distances were on the program, all with start and finish at Bagno Marconi.
The swimming leg took place in the Adriatic waters, followed by the cycling routes along the coast and the run through the town center. The race village in Piazza Marconi served as the backdrop for the awards ceremonies and pasta party on both days.
Race village and transition area in Piazza Marconi, at the foot of Marco Pantani's statue. Three distances in one weekend (AS75, Olympic, Sprint), with the Sprint race selling out. Approximately 600 triathletes from all over Italy participated.
