Speed Pulling competitions, tractor and car rallies in Sant'Antonio di Medicina
Tractor Day Speed Pulling is one of the most anticipated events of spring in the Municipality of Medicina, in the province of Bologna, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. The event takes place in the hamlet of Sant'Antonio di Medicina, along via Renato Fabbri, in the area surrounding the parish church, and transforms this corner of the plain into a grand stage dedicated to engines, agricultural mechanics, and conviviality for an entire weekend.
The heart of the event is the spectacular Speed Pulling competitions, a discipline where tractors compete to drag a weight as far as possible, testing power, traction, and driving skills. Alongside these are the Sgador Pulling exhibitions, a variant that recalls the ancient agricultural machinery of peasant tradition. Free practice and competitions alternate over the two days, offering the public the roar of engines and adrenaline.
The program is enriched by numerous side events:
As in any self-respecting village festival, there is ample space dedicated to food. The food stall offers typical specialties of Emilian cuisine: crescentine, piadine, cured meats, sausage, soup, and fried potatoes, to be enjoyed together in a genuine and family-friendly atmosphere.
Organized by the Associazione Torre dei Cavalli, active for years in promoting the social life of Sant'Antonio di Medicina, Tractor Day Speed Pulling is a free admission event designed for motor and agricultural mechanics enthusiasts as well as families, who can rediscover the authentic spirit of community festivals in the Bolognese plain.
The event opened on Saturday, May 23rd from 4:30 PM, with the tuning car rally organized by Flash Cars Tuning, the agricultural tractor rally, an aperitif, and free practice sessions for Speed Pulling and an exhibition of Sgador Pulling. From 7:00 PM, the food stall opened, offering crescentine, piadine, cured meats, sausage, soup, and fried potatoes, followed in the evening by a live show and the awards ceremony for the tuning rally.
Sunday, May 24th, from 10:00 AM, featured a parade of agricultural tractors through the village streets and a gathering of vintage and sports cars and motorcycles, along with free practice sessions. From the afternoon, Speed Pulling competitions took place with musical entertainment. This well-attended edition confirmed Tractor Day as a key event for motor enthusiasts in the Bologna area.
