Mantua's tortelli and Lambrusco wines take centre stage in autumn
Tortelli e Lambruschi is the event that the Festival della Cucina Mantovana (Festival of Mantuan Cuisine) dedicates in autumn to the tortello, one of the signature dishes of Mantua. At the PalaUnical (formerly Palabam), for five weekends, pumpkin tortelli and other traditional filled pastas become the stars of a grand gastronomic celebration.
The format mirrors that of its spring counterpart, Risotti e Lambruschi: indoor venue, no reservations required, free parking. Food is served on Friday and Saturday evenings (7 PM-10:30 PM) and on Sundays also for lunch (12 PM-3 PM) and dinner (7 PM-10 PM). The star of the menu is Mantua's tortelli, paired with Lambrusco, the typical sparkling wines of the plains.
Each edition also features specialities from other regions, such as Tortello amaro di Castel Goffredo (bitter tortelli from Castel Goffredo) and Tortellini di Valeggio, for a journey through the great tradition of filled pasta from the Po Valley. An opportunity to discover and compare different interpretations of a dish that spans provinces and regional borders.
Mantua (Province of Mantua) is famous throughout Italy for its pumpkin tortelli, with their characteristic sweet and savoury contrast given by the addition of mostarda (fruit preserve) and amaretti biscuits. Tortelli e Lambruschi celebrates this excellence in a convivial and accessible way, bringing Mantuan cuisine to your table at popular prices.
From 18 September to 11 October 2026, the PalaUnical in Mantua hosts Tortelli e Lambruschi, over five weekends. The festival is dedicated to Mantuan tortelli โ starting with the famous pumpkin tortelli โ paired with local Lambrusco wines.
