Risotto col pessìn De.Co. takes centre stage at Parco della Saggina
The Sagra del Risotto col Pessin in Sorgà, in the Bassa Veronese region, revolves around a symbolic dish of local tradition: risotto col pessìn, prepared with small river fish (the "pessìn") according to a recipe passed down through generations. The dish has obtained the De.Co. (Denominazione Comunale - Municipal Designation) recognition, which certifies its link with the territory and the community of Sorgà.
The festival takes place at the Parco della Saggina, entirely covered under a marquee, over two weekends in September. The food stalls are open every evening from 7:30 PM and also for lunch on Sundays, offering risotto col pessìn and other traditional Venetian dishes. Each evening is accompanied by live music, with dance orchestras popular throughout the region and tribute bands dedicated to the great names of Italian music.
Promoted by the Pro Loco Sorgà, the festival is an unmissable event for fans of Venetian cuisine and ballroom dancing, as well as a moment of identity for the town, in the province of Verona. Its longevity — dozens of editions behind it — testifies to how deeply rooted it is in the region's festival calendar.
In 2026, Sorgà once again hosts its Sagra del Risotto col Pessin De.Co. at the Parco della Saggina, with risotto col pessìn as the star of the food stalls and a rich programme of musical evenings featuring dance orchestras and tribute bands. The established format includes two weekends of indoor celebration, with stalls open from 7:30 PM and also for lunch on Sundays. The exact date will be confirmed by Pro Loco Sorgà closer to the event.
